That's what I wanted to say. There are good games in the past and now, but the biggest change over time is the quality of the userbase. I hope the new people like talking to each other even if I don't want to speak to them. Feels like high school all over again, where I just sat by myself.

Oh. I'm part of one of those range bans, but I'm evading. I refuse to be blocked from a place I used all my life, and that's how I figured out how to get past it. I can't say how or maybe the block will become more advanced. I just read posts in the archive until one of them gave me an idea.

I don't want to turn back time, I want to bring that energy forward to the present. Rather than a repeat of an era I already enjoyed something just as fun but new should take its place. New games in new franchises, new tv shows and movies and music all spawning new OC and new memes.
It feels like we've been locked in place for over a decade now. Games take entire console gens to release and they're bad anyway, every new tv show and movie has the same writing that wasn't even good the first time, people are still posting the same wojaks and pepes over and over and over.

Back when I started posting here this was the place to be and I guess some naive part of me still thinks things could get better here again someday. I do go to other places but most of them suffer from similar issues (or just a lack of traffic) because going to other places doesn't fix one of the biggest underlying problems. Internet culture is largely downstream of things being done in the physical world. Posting somewhere else doesn't transport you to an alternate reality where the AA market is still alive and producing dozens of genre-defining games every year.

I've had a similar mindset, I have it for my use in the internet as well. I've recently decided to force myself to be more active in the communities im a part of, this place included. I post more now than I have ever before and its greatly improved my time here and elsewhere, although there isn't much of substance out there even then
