A thread about developing games
I've always heard about 'kill plains' as a concept but they were actually boxes all along, weren't they?
Still working on my VN about 12 identical sisters. Going is slow.
>>748828586why does everything have to be so difficult? I'm trying to fix the AA, every option that I have from none to SMAA are all crap in different ways (I cant use MSAA)
>>748828586wait! People still code games by hand? Why not just use Claude like a normal person? Do you still use a horse and buggy to get around too?lmao
>>748829146cuteare you gonna sell it someday?
Trying to think of a lazy(because temporary) way to have hit VFX in an action game but not particles because it's a bit uglymaybe just a static texture aligned(position and basis) on a timer
how do you guys decide what to do on blender vs what to do on engine?
>>748830182because math isn't simple ready-to-use solution and you need more than 80 iq to develop games
>>748832135do in blender as little as possible, simple as
>>748832405I'll have you know my iq is at least 81
I can't code for shit, but I'm an artist. Don't have time to code, but want to use AI to pick up for that slack, what is the best AI to use for branching choice AI and touch mini games? (Art example added)
>>748832519>(Art example added)Post the layers and timelapse.
>>748832519renpy for visual novels, this is the simplest thing you can dorpg maker for pseudo rpg games with some gameplay mechanics. Claude can actually develop decent scripts for it. Though remember that making anything in rpg maker requires decent amount of game design knowledge
It's hot as fuck inside my apartment and I have to do tedious marketing work. End me desu.Oh well, at least the game is almost released. The key begging in e-mails have already begun, and people have told me they saw it on their Steam calendar so that's dope. Steam's discovery methods are a lot better these days, it feels like.
My game is a little lame and gay but it's the tale I want to tell. But I feel self conscious about it being lame and gay. I've written stuff before and people seemed to like it but I feel like my work might be a little terminally online. Not a great comparison for my stuff, but I guess it's like "what if I was Toby Fox." Undertale and Deltarune are very internet person coded and gay and if I were Toby Fox, I think I'd be happy sharing it with people online who are faceless to me but if I imagined someone I know in real life playing it, I'd cringe
>>748828586Finally working on a robot master. Then i will have a complete (but very buggy) level, that will lead to an inevitable list of bugs to fix, mostly "global" ones, and then hopefully the rest of the levels won't take as long.
>>748834308> is a little lame and gay How "little" lame and gay are we talking?'cause modern AAA put the bar for "average lame and gay" so far down you have to dig quite deep to even register on the scale anymore. If you mean you are just playing a love story / hero journey / etc straight instead of having 666 layers of "subverted expectation", then fucking do it. We have reached the point where basic "carebear" tropes are the spiciest flavor possible.
>>748830268Good morning saar
>>748832519>AI>for something basic Ren'py does without problemsYou will legitimately lose more time wrangling the AI than just making it yourself.Nice art tho.1) Do you have a gallery somewhere?2) Do you take commissions / would consider working on someone else project?

>>748833120Here ya go faggot, now where's my advice?【Return speedpaint-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/pp240io
I've been working on a shooter (like Soldier of Fortune 2000) with an ancient/Hyborian style setting, where the player is a hulking caveman hucking javelins at proto-Roman soldiers and slicing dinosaurs. Mostly trying to copy the SoF movement feel of "slow quake".I was motivated to do this by the "Exodus from Hyperborea" painting that has the convoy of mammoths with sleighs hauling structures and howdahs on their back, because I thought that would serve as an awesome "train level".However I'm having trouble sorting out the weapon roster and how many weapons should be available at once. It's one thing to chart out a standard boomer shooter armory and map the roles to ancient looking things but this leads to having a full 10 weapon roster on you at any time, kind of destroys the core fantasy of being a primal warrior. For example if you encounter a raptor it's a stronger enemy and more dangerous, so with full boomer shooter roster availability the player will know it's time to pull out a power weapon rather than fighting it with an axe.Soldier of Fortune has you using weapon slots, where you have for example a pistol slot to choose the Glock / Deagle. This seems better suited but then there's the immersion break of having certain combos behave in a slot based manner, ie I can't bring my bow and my javelins. The fact that I can't find an ancient dinosaur shooter (even Turok has space stuff) makes me wonder if this is a bad path to go down.Should I just switch back to doing guns before I go too far?
>>748834980>1) Do you have a gallery somewhere?https://primvt.newgrounds.com/>2) Do you take commissions / would consider working on someone else project?Commissions (In the process of making a sheet for that since I plan to open them again)As for working on someone else's project, perhaps.
planet curvature, more trees, and a skybox with clouds moving
>>748835352>Should I just switch back to doing guns before I go too far?Based on vibes, hell no. I don't know of hypoborea except meme vids but what you describe sounds cool as fuck if you solve some not too difficult game design questions. Most importantly, it's unique, and standing out in a sea of similar settings makes you more prone to success.
>>748832519got nothing better to do, I can take care of the coding for some revenue if you want
>>748835243Okay good, you're not a slopper. Anyways, Claude Opus 4.8 and above is great, but since you want to do extremely basic visual novel-type games you literally can just use Google Gemini for free.
>>748835892Certainly unique but maybe that is because of the limits to an ancient setting for a first person game. For weaponry, some things I had in mind:>Battle Axe, 2-handed, as the big melee sweeping attacks with commitment, smashes enemy to gibs >Firepot Sling, arcing projectiles that explode, so it's your grenade launcher role>Blowgun, something closer to the flare gun of Blood where you shoot an enemy and they don't immediately die but after a threshold is crossed they are poisoned by the darts and begin infighting until death>Javelin, very straightforward it's thrown in a flat arc like a rocket because your guy is strong as HellThen there are things that I am very uncertain of like an Arcuballista type weapon that looks like a double stacked crossbow and your guy turns a crank to have it fire like a chaingun. And a Dragon Lung that is a severed organ where the spout that would go up the throat is held like the barrel and he squeezes the lung to make it shoot fire.I think those things are cool but having them makes shit like the axe, or a spear, or a sword redundant or useless because you're always going to use the good shit in a pinch rather than slice your way out. Maybe that's better I don't know. These items also don't jive well with slots/limited inventory.
https://x.com/kujudev/status/2105644902214472051will try modding when possible
>>748834783I guess things happen and character has the whole "I feel sad" scene and is too touchy feely for real cool foot long penis men. Has to do with a character thinking they're awesome and then a betrayal occurs and the character realizes their imposter syndrome doubts were actually accurate and the betrayer used them. I think I just gotta stop worrying about it, there's a skip cutscene button if it gets too shitty for a player's tastes and the scenes are generally pretty snappy anyway
>>748836637so it's an NTR game?
>>748836763No!!!!!!!!!!!It doesn't even have romance aside from the "I'm horny for every woman" trope character
>>748828728No, you can easily have a plane that's a kill on touch type boundary. Unless you do something programmatic, it's the best way to protect against falling out of world related shit.
>can't draw>can't program>can't compose music>can't writeOk, where do I start?
>>748836507Make those weapons super late game or rare ammo so you wanna conserve it for bosses or something
>>748836993Learn some programming. Look up a free C# course, C# is a language used by a decent number of game engines and frameworks and is reasonably approachable
>>748836993Pick one and start. No one is born drawing, writing code, as a musician or a writer. They know jack shit one day, the day after they know a little and eventually they know enough for some moron to dismiss all the effort and discipline by telling them it's a natural talent.Start doing shit.Look up free art programs, free game engines and free music programs and just do shit. Do something. In an hours time, you could know more about at least 1 of these topics than you do right now. It's your choice to try or not.
>>748836993Become a teams idea guy and ask them to teach you so you can learn and help in things other than ideas.
>>748834834you lost luddite incel
give it to me straight will ai really kill gamedev
>>748837458yes
>>748837458Are your game ideas just slight variations of current existing games? Then maybe yes.If no then maybe no.AI art for example has been as good as real art since 2022. Cutesexyrobutts was already on decline by 2021 but still, he's the most plagiriazed artist on earth and his decline stopped at late 2024.I think in most surveys artists say they lost around 20% in comissions. So right now AI games aren't as good, but if they are. I expect also a 20% of decline in revenue slowly in 4 years. Since artists still aren't obsolete despite 4 years of AI advancement despite being the easiest to replace since they just fill a canvas with pixels. Solo devving is art + code + game design + writing.
>>748836985I checked and godot's 'world boundry' (plane option) is infinite, so if the game world is vertical it's not a great fit.

>>748837458As funny as those "I crammed all of Nintendo's best seller in Quake 2" post are, the games created that way are utter dogshit AND crash every few meters. If your game can be beaten by that, you should have made a better game anyway. Also the guys doing this are burning tokens faster than Epstein Island's oven was burning toddler's corpses, and considering AI providers have yet to charge anywhere near the actual cost per token, I wouldn't be too worried long term wise.

>>748837458It won't, even if AI get's to the point where you could generate fully playable games from beginning to end in a single prompt. Ideally, AI would enable every engine to be as simple and easy to use as RPG maker where you can drag and drop assets and script things easily on the fly. Games made this way would be way more fun and interesting than slop shat out by a single jeet. using chatgpt 600 or whatever.
>>748838462it doesn't even need an engine sdl3 or three.js clears
>>748828586What do you guys think about devlogs as a method to prevent ai bros from sniping your game like the needle in the haystack guy? I feel like the story line of my game is sufficiently cracked out enough that it couldnt be replicated, but the general gameplay probably wouldn't be too crazy to reproduce at all (its kind of a movie game)I used to do public speaking and my wife thinks im cute so I think I could pull off showing some personality beyond the "hey guys im buttfucker64 and this is my low poly Zelda like". I used to think devlogs were a dead thing only other aspiring devs watched but im wondering if thats whats needed now to prove you arent a slopper
>>748828586>EU make it effectively illegal for small studios to have an online component (technically include even online patches)Joke on them, I was never going to get that part to work anyway.
>>748839178Why would you need dev logs for a story-focused game? Maybe if you talk about writing in video games, that's a niche you could hit.
>>748839178They can't steal anything they have an incomplete picture of since they usually will lack the skills to make a good game themselves and/or extend it without assistance. So demo is very bad if your game can be copied(highly gameplay focus)story and art are very hard to copy without being noticed so they're safer to share online imo.
it's starting to take shape
>>748839178>to prevent ai bros from sniping your gameHave you checked the shit they make? It's pretty much always a single level that's barely functional. Not because AI can't do polish or content, but because those dude chase the high of "I did it too, faster and shinny-er". They get it in a good enough state to post on social media then move onto the next thing. If anything, they are more like bad free advertising - anyone interested by their shit will be left wanting an actual full game.Unless your game concept was only fun for 10 minutes to begin with. They yeah you can worry.
Well, just set the itch page for my game to public, so I'm excited. Made a roguelike deckbuilder where you kill vampires. Mechanics are in a spot where I'm happy, need to get a proper artist to redo the AI art now, get some sounds, and fill the game with content. Hoping to have a proper demo out by the end of the year. Hoping for steam next fest in February if the itch demo gets traction.
>>748839728I figure i could do a couple big ones on overall progress and then a bunch of little "how i made x" videos about like how i made the modular terrain chunks or how i made the characters with old school fuse and such. I could do alot while still just teasing story stuff
Scrapped my fifth attempt at the MC. Going to look at more tutorials.
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1111930/view/696525626177225325Got a new patch out because a bunch of multiplayer bits were actually broken broken, but also did some stuff like put in a custom depth of field thing for dialogues.
>>748840692Snakeschizo.. just make a game. use a shitty model and shitty animations. accept that they're temporary. then you're free to actually make a game instead of obsessing over art. and grind the art for several hours a week until you get something you like.
I'm going to record all of the voice lines myself, and make up different voices for each of the characters. Is that gonna be cringey or based?
>>748840786>multiplayerHope you are ready to work on making that part unavailable to anyone in the EU.https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:52026PC0681
>>748840912Dungeon of Naheulbeuk did that and got some good success....as a cheap, only known locally audio series that got a handful of games.
>>748840912If you can really do different voices its kino, and if you really really cant do different voices its kino. It needs to either be really good or really bad, a middle ground would just feel lame and cheap
>>748836993Pick the most retarded game idea possible you can have, get godot and do it.By personal experience i recommend you start with a space shooter like gradius.Zero physics and you can fuck around with the enemy ships and have fun.

>>748841350hmmmaybe pulsating is the way. thank you gobbro
>>748841350Hey, does armor reduce or nullify damage in your game?I actually want to design a breakable enemy armor system myself, I think having some sort of @export slot on the hurtbox is the cross communication port between the two that lets you route damage and aother effects to armor/entity.
>>748828586>want to make party-based rpg>realize that all of my time spent enjoying building parties in rpgs does not carry over to understanding the basic underlying systems that make these games workand that's how I spent a week making no progress
>>748842358>Hey, does armor reduce or nullify damage in your game?nope! what it does is that enemies that wear an armor don't flinch when they are strike. This means their current action isn't interrupted so if you hit them while they are attacking, you'll be in trouble.
>>748842620just do it until it works and then get hung up on art and animation for weeks at a time, agonize over pivoting to 3d, don't do it, then keep thinking about it.
>>748842358sorry lol, I missread. Aside from the stuff I mentioned, yes, it nullifies damage. Each armor piece has it's own hp, so for example you can break the hobgoblin's helmet but not the breastplate, and vice versa

>all attempts to make a game ended in crippling depression leading to crippling procrastination
>>748842620Path of Exile and Magic the Gathering dev talks will teach you a lot. But in the end it comes down to two goals:>kill shit>don't dieWhat options do your players have for those two things? Do they actually get to chose the path or is it just a snaking line that pretends to have options? How do those options interact with the non-combat bits of the game? >>748843107>rpg stat fuckery seems like a fucker to build and balance. You mainly need to figure out how many hits enemies and allies should take to die and then it's a lot of spreadsheets. But one very efficient trick is to use self-limiting damage formulas instead of escalating ones.
For shits and giggles I went into my archive and created a crappy yet playable falling block game that I designed all the way back in 6th grade after discovering Mean Bean Machine. Originally I named it something incredibly dumb like “Lord Barney’s Genocide Virus…Something” (the name was crap anyway) but now I call it “Lord Barney’s Listeria Hysteria” to keep the pathogenic engineering theme. Also the original design I drew up when I was 12 of the game was a complete MBM ripoff, but now it’s more original since:>A. You only need to match three viruses>B. You have binding agents that completely destroy all viruses that surround it>C. When you duel against computer opponents you are basically in a tug-of-war of shrinking your opponent’s game board and expanding your ownHere’s an image of Margus, one of the opponents you will face. This little project also gave me an opportunity to make better renders since they also keep the post processing effects.
Here’s a screenshot of the game.
>>748845565>>748848291It's a shame they don't make steroids for the face, you'd be the most handsome fucker on earth.

>>748838150Well yeah, if your game is vertical and you want to kill/respawn after a vertical fall, you need to either adjust it dynamically, place smaller ones by hand, or make it a property of the character that they die after falling x distance.

>>748836507Usually melee weapons make themselves useful by>not using ammo>doing high damage and/or stun lockingThe risk is having to close to melee range, the reward is taking out the target if you get there.Maybe a melee weapon could serve as a close-quarters panic option. >>748850727Yeah where the setting is ancient I want melee to be significant. The axe as a big slow swinger, nothing but damage. Then on the other end you can use a spatha with a primary slash attack (LMB) which deflects projectiles or attacks in addition to doing damage, and a secondary thrust attack (RMB) that zips you forward a bit. Both are common mechanics but combining them on your "always on" melee weapon gives you a defensive mobility item to start and later you can get the big ass axe that is just for killing.I thought about a spear but it becomes redundant without a mechanic

>>748828586I'M STARTING OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am torn and can't pick. I have posted before and no one gives a shit, without visual progress I won't get replies, there's some (more on this later) but I have abandoned all.I was working on a swat 3/ghost recon thing, yeah about same graphics because time and budget. It takes too long, I feel I have to abandon it.This only leaves me with a stealth game to maybe pursue or something else.Basically, I am torn and lost and feel I wasted time and no longer can continue with what I had
>>748856198>>748856358Sure, I can explain my reasoning:Programming is a means to an end -- as long as it works good I don't really care how it's coded. You know Undertale, the game praised for it's amazing storytelling? All of that great dialog is in a massive thousand line switch statement. No one gives a shit.Art on the other hand is creative expression so I'd rather have a skilled human make it instead of AI. Also, a lot of AI art looks like shit because it's overwhelmingly talentless people genning it.
>>748862292There's no meat in this post at all, no wonder you don't get (You)s what could anyone have to say about this? You feel bad. Ok. How can anyone tell you if you should keep going or quit even you have said and shown nothing. Try not being a vague posting fag, imagine a guy like this trying to make a trailer for his game. Sorry to crab but post better
>>748863016I am not used to posting in 4chan anymore, years of lurking. To make more than a vertical slice, which would be one tiny level at my scale, or one "decent" level the effort is extreme. I have been working on systems, AI teammates, enemy AI, the whole "tactics", it's too much. This genre is too hard for me, I don't want to do a classic one guy shooter, beyond citadel, doom, etc. I wanted to do a tactical FPS, indie and retro but still. I can only realistically deliver a tiny slice, what back then would be a demo for a real game of a proper size. Too many systems. Therefore I am fully lost on what game to make now.
>>748863197Nta but is there a way you could scale it down? Compromise is inevitable when you have no budget but it doesn't mean you have to entirely abandon what you want to do. Are you able to perhaps make a list for yourself to figure out what are "must haves" for your fantasy and what are just nice to have? Perhaps AI teammates could be simplified? A little map you could click on to give them little directions of where to go. I dunno. Talking out of my ass, but I think it could be done.
>>748863434Yep, something like that came up.First off, it might look simple (I dont know if theres ever an end product if someone will wanna play it but thats a given) but the AI on swat 3, an inspiration is something special.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwu41OXYVZIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Doiim4ee00This gave me the biggest trouble and it doesn't even really work for me. The commands, orders, behavior during emergent gameplay broke my mind, the stress was unreal.I thought of simplifying it but then you have idiot teammates in a genre where that's a killer. So why have a team? I experimented with "modularity" on a single guy but it didn't work that well. The problem is I feel like I have no current spark or idea for any of the project ideas I had.
>>748862292>This only leaves me with a stealth gameI'm making a stealth game too, they're really fun to build, but if you're after (You)s it's the wrong genre. But I stopped adding webms to my posts a while ago so thats probably part of it lol. I mostly treat these threads as a quick little blog and will sometimes reply to other progress posts, but usually it's to just write down what I've done recently and then move onif you do a stealth game, all I'm gonna say is that the NPC behavior AI is a bit more complex than you'd first expect, at least if you want it to feel solid. It's definitely doable and really rewarding when things workI'll say that my experience making this kind of game is similar to getting good at playing the genre, it's a really slow process at first but eventually you hit a point where things feel great and fluid.either way, don't feel down if you don't get replies, that shouldn't motivate you. if that is what motivates you, then maybe find another hobby where you can share what you make more frequently? idk. if you aren't enjoying the process, why bother? that's my philosophy on game dev. Hope you find something that motivates you anon.
>>748864128No worries, I kind of handle all the dev stuff as super secret...which might be bad, no one ever sees anything. I worry about the can it carry a full thing? whatever system I am tinkering with or can it be a full thing? what size?I think scope is my main concern, games like the ones I am inspired, well they had teams even just 2 to 3 people that's way better. So, I just feel no matter the concept I am doomed to vertical slice land, signalis is quite brief. They went all out in style and it worked but really, it's super brief.Good luck with your stealth game btw, hope to see more of those around soon. I was replaying thief taking notes of the map design for studying again just weeks ago, very rewarding genre to work on but slow burn. I hate the meme term but that's the best way to call it.
>>748863197Once you implement those systems the content will be trivial. Why is it so hard to implement, what kind of advanced maneuvers do you require? Retro tactical shooters were pretty basic in what the AI could do, I'm pretty sure even stacking doors was using premade positioning and they don't cut the pie or anything they just all rush through. The AI for your teammates was just "better" (shoot faster and more accurate, almost guaranteed to win a head on duel but can get bested if flanked)The game is so system heavy that a vertical slice is just a complete game, so you should consider a more realistic milestone like a lone wolf map to demonstrate the gunplay, objectives, enemies, maybe have one follow-only teammate who will watch your back.No shame in getting burnt out, this hobby can be Hellish.
Is this a gamedev thread or /faggydaggy/ lite?
>>748864398It was the former until you showed up
>>748864285what if you made something that's small in scope, but pretty sandboxy or at least open-ended? that way even though the core part of the game is small, it can offer a lot of replay value.
>>748837458AI is now at the point where it can act as a transpiler of existing codebases and make scam projects that are basically just copies of existing ones in different languages. More competent than the bun translation was from zig to rust. It's similar to how AI generated books literally just copy some existing book and rephrase it to the point of being considered transformative under the law and then sold, but in the case of code, there is simultaneously enough plausible deniability to where they can completely deny doing that. It's going to kill open source and the open internet before anything else because nobody wants their hard work to turn into training data, even cuck licensers. The internet is going to get very quiet and feel even smaller than it already does. Gamedev still has some time, but eventually at some point we will face the complete death of all creative endeavors as almost nobody wants to make anything anymore through the old process and simultaneously nobody values anything anyone creates anymore. I was in complete denial about AI capability because I saw the code quality was just terrible, but things have taken a turn recently and there are some non-trivial transformations. Now I see why career mathematicians are having an existential crisis. I think we've also reached a point where even the vibeGODs are quiet because it was mostly just shitposting to put other people down but now the threat has escalated to a potential future they did not foresee or actually really want. If I had to guess, in a decade or two people might be making the best, "highest quality" games you've ever seen in your life but no one will care and all forms of entertainment will wither and die. Blue collar will have a meaningful existence for a while until they're automated as well, but for any creative act, it's going to be the complete and utter death of all art and humanity will lose something extremely precious that was taken for granted.
>>748864128you'd get more replies if you participated in DD for a change instead of doing drive-by progress posts for 3 years.
blender scares me, i keep procrastinating because i can't make what i want in it. this basic head took me 3 tries and i'm still unhappy with it
>>748865145Blue collar will only survive because tech oligarchs needs some way to keep the unwashed masses generating meager income for a while until the government completely implodes its economy propping up the AI sector. When everything inevitably collapses we'll be thrust into full blown tech feudalism where the majority of the population will start dying off with the last few remaining serving as indentured servants and flesh holes. The idea that AI could ever become sentient enough to be a Skynet level threat is laughable, the AI CEOs already have kill switches embedded in the software to prevent any perceivable threat to their benefactors. It will always be kept just stupid enough on purpose because the point is and always has been to undermine the individual's power of autonomy.
>>748864398Shut the fuck up nicolai raska
>>748866239>The idea that AI could ever become sentient enough to be a Skynet level threat is laughableYeah, they're panicking because they want full regulatory capture so no one can use open models and they're running out of time before the crash. They need maximal adoption and dependence, mainly because they have already exhausted all potential training data across the web and printed media across all of human history. Anyone who is proompting right now is just feeding their models to at the very least be better prompters so that agents can better direct other agents. If people don't want to march towards this future, they should really, really, really consider not using AI anymore and starving it of new data. It's one thing to ask it to do something, but conversational data, where you are giving ideas back and forth to the model is baaad. The kind of vibecoding where you generate a small piece of code, fix it up, repeat is also really, really bad. The worst, even. I know that's not really the common way of doing it anymore, but I'm just saying. If you have to use it for your job, I would recommend against not using it at all and just finding another job, because you're out of a job either way but if you stay you're just helping to train your replacement (an agent).

>>748828586Hey guys, I'm completely new to devving. If I wanted to make a strategic management game with territorial expansion (read: maps changing colors) based off of RNG mechanics, would Twine be a good engine for it just to try something out? I heard DoL was made in a Twine fork and while the game isn't going to be like DoL, I think some of the mechanics like stats, percent rolls, and storytelling would translate well to my idea
>>748868162Nigga who cares use AI if you want, use just to fuck around to explore to do something stupid just because you can. Don't use because you think you have to or because you want to make money. I fucking swear this generation has become so fucking pathetic, if this was 2010 everyone on here would immediately find a way to make it spam nigger uncontrollably to the point where it becomes unusable and causing OpenAI to waste a couple million to retrain and fix. Instead everyone's just sitting in their little cuck chairs dooming and glooming because Jew Altman wants to use all of the water on Earth as his personal enema reservoir. This is why you're going to be stuffed in the goy pods, not because of a deeply coordinated NWO conspiracy but because you won't even do the bare minimum before giving up and shitting your diaper.

>>748870425Right now, they're coins, but I'm probably going to change them eventually. You can pick them up to increase your score, but it isn't necessary. You can finish the level without picking any of them up.
>>748870157This isn't usable because it's not a proper loop. The multiple perspectives are pointless if you don't have a single usable one.Can you ask the AI to do a full 6 frame rotation from a single perspective? I'll animate it for you if you can.
>>748870223I'd use darker colors, not everything needs to be saturated.

Recently added this. I'm traveling right now so I can't do serious dev, but making this happen feels good. The Tread system is an optional part that you can equip to an Assault Frame to gain the Tread skill, which doubles move range and increases move speed in field maps. Tread and Landboost, a version that allows traversal over air, water, and hazards at the cost of having less energy to spend per turn, are skills that cost a turn to use in combat. This game is getting so complex. I'm lucky it has a solid design document or I would start feature creeping. Also, Gouge only has two option slots, so it's up to you how important fast traversal is.
