What monitor size does /v/ use for gaming?
>>
>>748846312
27 inches for me
>>
i tried 27" but 24" is just comfier
>>
>>748846312
the same 23" 1080p monitor I've been using for 14 years
>>
>>748846312
27 centimeters for me
>>
Recently switched from a 15 yo samsung 1080p tv to 27 inch 2k monitor
>>
>24"
>1440p
>240hz (can overclock to 300hz)
>Speakers
Let me guess, you "need" more?
>>
>>748846312
27", got a VA 24" for general use and browsing though, babying the OLED a bit too much probably.
>>
>>748846312
32" 4K monitor.
Originally bought this for productivity but now I also use it for gaming.
>>
>>748846639
>240hz (can overclock to 300hz)
I need less
>>
>>748846695
Good thing you can always select less.
>>
>>748846312
32 or 27 depending on what I'm playing
>>
>>748846639
>speakers
in monitor speakers are fucking horrible, don't even mention that shit as a feature, you get better and louder audio cranking your headphones on full volume
>>
>>748846778
i dont like wearing headphones all the time, monitor speakers are a godsend when you just want to watch some slop on youtube
>>
>>748846312
I have a 27 but I want a 32
>>
>>748846778
NTA but they are good enough as basic audio output when you arent watching kinos or playing games
>>
>>748846312
32 mini led, it's fucking sweet

Perfection
>>
>>748846856
>>748846956
from my limited experience in testing them, the audio is lower and worse than throwing your headphones on the desk and cranking the volume on full, which is what I meant in my post, forgot to mention that part
>>
32 1440 165hz
works for me
>>
>>748846312
MSI optix 1080p 165hz 27 inches. After 3 years of use a vertical line of pixels died, I opened it to press the ribbon cables but no dice. Do NOT buy from MSI.

im a compnigger so anything above 24" is no good

27“

240Hz
>>
32" 4K
>>
>>748846312
27" but it's too small.
32" 360Hz 4K OLED will be my next stop unless someone will make 240Hz+ TVs in near future.
>>
I use a 25" 1440p monitor. The size feels like the sweet spot for me. Just right.
>>
I just got a 32" not installed yet, maybe I went overboard because I come from a tiny 24" and the size difference is massive

will take a while to get used to, or you may never
>>

>>
>>748849942
I was thinking about a 27" all the time but saw the 32 model at the same price and I did a probably very stupid thing
>>
>>748849869
I went from 23 inches (I think I don't remember anymore) to 32 and it's been 2 years now I still feel like the monitor is too big for gaming
>>
how good are the minileds now if you want an upgrade from the usual IPS LCD?
>>
>>748846639
>speakers
I need it to not have those.
>>
>>748846312
been using a 42" for years now. i do wish there was a 38" inch because i think thats genuinely the sweet spot.
>>
27 inch 1440p now, but the next one will be 32 inches and 4K for sure. But I’m not in hurry to upgrade, because I play majority of my graphicsfagging games through 65-inch TV anyways.
>>
>>748846312
lmao are you for real, 24?
42 and no one has commented that it's big. and yes i've had many girls in my room
>>
>>748850227
only a single good mini led monitor exists and its a 5k monitor with 1440p dual mode. its also $1200. Mini led is a tv tech for movies.

>>
I use 27 inches and it's really nice. Big enough to feel cinematic next to my laptop's panel. I wouldn't go any bigger because it would be too heavy to sit on my condo mount I have strapped to a newell post which is ballasted by my bed on one side and wardrobe on the other. Yes I game lying down in bed with my monitor suspended in front of me.
>>
I have a 32in 4k and a 27in 2k, objectively the best setup if you aren’t a poorfag
>>
I did 27” 2K for awhile. Multiplayer doesn’t hit as much anymore, so i upgraded to 4k 32” OLED for singleplayer games. Best decision ever.
>>
>>748850714
I’ve been dreaming of doing that, but I feel like it would a decisive and irreversible threshold crossing into becoming an irredeemable slob. The idea of waking up and playing vidya with a controller without leaving the bed would ruin me.
>>
>>748846312
24" 4k because 32" 4k is unreadable and almost no videocard can support that resolution.
>>
>>748851016
>24" 4k
monitor name? been looking for ages for one of these and its all discontinued stuff
>>
43" 4k for games
2560x1600 for everything else

>>
49" 4k on the home theatre telly but it's fecking up my eyes after prolonged use so the brightness goes low

>>
>>748846312
27 is perfect for a monitor. If I want big image I use my projector.
>>
The bigger the better. VR is probably best. With full fov when that exists.
Whatever you have is good enough though. Displays aren't important and can be configured to look better than anything's stock.

Recently upgraded from a 27 1440p LCD to a 32 4k OLED. I'm still getting used to it, so far 27 seems the sweet spot for me.
>>
>>748854406
Unless you sit several feet away, yes.
>>
>>748854406
You might be retarded but that's not a bad idea.
Just be aware TVs don't play nicely with certain PC setups.
>>
>>748854406
It’s probably going to be rough. Many are satisfied with 40-inchers, but 55 is a gigamassive size increase over that.

had 3x 1080p60Hz basic ass HP office monitors, got a bomb ass deal on an entire desktop with a 27incher 1440p 165hz with G-SYNC, its actually really nice, i still dont really notice the difference between 60 and 165 hz, ye i can see it, but for the games i play it makes no difference
and yes 165hz is enabled

27" 1440p
>>
>>748846312
1440 27" OLED because 4k 32 inchers are too expensive

There are so many brands, I feel like I don't trust the big names i recognize, but also don't trust the ones I've never heard of.
How do you guys pick what brand? Are you loyal to one?
>>
What's a good PPI?
>>
>>748847180
The speakers on my view sonic are much better than doing that with my sennheisers
>>
>>748846312
23" 1080p. If you stopped upgrading your fucking monitor you would not be whining about UE5 so much. The only reason you need higher resolutions for is a bigger monitor.
>>
>>748855549
Retina is about 300ppi iirc.
>>
>>748855549
depends how far you sit and what will you be doing
>>
>>748854848
What GPU and I'm sure your speakers/amp are shit
>>
>>748846312
27" 1440p
I read that 1440p on 32" doesn't look as good. My next monitor will probably be a 32" 4k. Pricey little fuckers.
>>
>>748856543
Yeah, can’t recommend 32 inch 1440p screens, stuff starts looking really rough on them. Honestly 1440p is just enough for 27 inches to start with, and those 5 extra inches add so much real estate that it screams for a higher resolution.
>>
Is 4K a meme? I've tried comparing the visuals in a game on my 1440p monitor to my 4K TV, and I can barely see a difference. If I press my face up to the screen closer than I ever would during normal gameplay, I could see slightly more detail on the TV in the distance, but it's nowhere near being enough of a difference to justify cutting the framerate in half.
>>
>>748856840
Entirely depends on the size of the screen. The different between 2k and 4k on a 65" tv is very noticeable. On a 27" monitor the difference is minor.
>>
>>748857107
I'm thinking it's mainly noticeable because it's not the native resolution. If there were 1440p 65 inch TVs I think they would look nearly as good as 4K TVs of the same size.
>>
i have a fujitsu siemens i brought for 5 pounds on vinted, and an acer that i brought for 20 pounds on vinted. the siemens is pretty small, and the acer is about average size i thnk
i'll never understand the mentality of those who spend more on a monitor than i do on DDR4 RAM
>>
>>748857169
Depends on distance. For many people, they probably would, but if you have under 2,5m distance from a 65 inch screen, the difference is very noticeable.
>>
>>748857443
…or would be if 1440p screens of such size existed. But perceived resolution differences are easy enough to calculate and simulate with different sized screens by changing the distance so that the viewing angle matches in both scenarios.

https://www.amazon.com/Single-Monitor-Mount-Articulating-Adjustable/dp/B07T3KCQ94/

can this arm support a 32 inch monitor?
>>
Wake me up when a 22-24" 1080P OLED monitor exists.
>>
>>748854406
A small desk at the right height for KBM, a couch, and a big ass tv on a table a couple feet away supremely comfy anon. It's worth at least testing it out trust me
>>
>>748858749
Using some quick conversion 19lbs is about 8.something KG and a 32" screen would typically weight around 6kg. Now would I trust that arm to hold up long term (especially when extended)? That is a different question.
