Who is this shadow 22 faggotnigger and how many missions before I add him to my tally
>no HOTAS supportlol no thanks

WHERE THE FULL NIGGER??? WHERE IS IT???
so we beat ace combat 7 and everything is nice and hopeful and it looks like a good end and all and then we get to ace combat 8 and suddenly the world is fucking over or something? what did I miss?
>>748862756Electrosphere is inevitable.
>>748862218lol, wait until you see how ineffective even QAAM's are against this bullshit OP boss. You'll have to machine gun him, only reliable way to take him down.and you have his 3 friends to take down at the same time that are as OP as himAnd you have 15 minutes to down all four.
>>748862380Someone finally said it. This game is not 0 or 5's successor, it's 6's.
>>748862857I meant Armored Core because of the dude in your head. What the FUCK is this
>>748862802That shit were easy if you hadn't been a bitch and weren't slacking on learning to gun.Dude constantly throws out post stalls to ditch missiles, acting all fancy and flamboyant.Sometimes the best solution really is 'shoot them with a gun'.
>>748862969Shit wrong picture I meant THIS
>>748862857its ac5 but gooder
>>748863015This shit is egregiously invasive. Even worse, they'll still bombard you with tutorial pop ups when you replay on Ace, you know, which you can only get after beating the original hard difficulty previous.
>>748862012Don't wanna.
>>748863023It'll age like milk. 8's story is so mid it's actually kind of shocking. You can see in the last ten missions how much they were struggling to stretch this shit out to 30 when they were completely out of material.
>>748862012As soon as voices38 works his magic, I will.
>>748863083I selected Expert. What the fuck was this mission. What the fuck. It's good presentation. BUT WANT TO FLY AND SHOOT DAMNNITGOD DAMN JAPS FUCKIN SHIT

>>748862756we've known where the timeline ends up for 25 years and it's not pretty
>>748862756this game takes place about a decade later
>>748863206Same happened to me, though I killed 22 first. On my 4th try I finally killed the 4th bird with 5 seconds to spare, cheered out loud, then saw the timer still counting down because his death speech wasn't over. I swear if I was 15 years younger I would have smashed my controller in the wall. Then I finally cleared it on the fifth try and the game crashed during the cutscene, forcing me to re-do the entire thing.
>>748862756belkans fuck everything up. seven werent enough.
>>748862756With 7's ending losing the entire satellite grid, 8 should have started with Usea already without borders, to properly set up 3's storyline that's just around the corner. But no, it's still the same status quo as before, are we're still slowly setting things up without committing to it, even though 7's ending literally gave them the perfect playground to pull it off.
>>748863213set it to type B so you high-g with only the brakeits betterinfact set everything to "type b" that you can

>>748863374the ending of 8 sets up all the dominoes for the eventual state of the world in 3, it's the most important leap they've done with the story so far
>>748863374The intercorporate war only started in the 2040s and the true ending strongly implied that the real one hadn't even started yet, they obviously did this so they could make a game between 8 and 3 and maybe even decanonize the awful GBA game that takes place a year after 8
>>748863479You can use the D pad to command your teammates, anon. Did you know?
>>748863307The more sluggish feel of the planes in AC8 made the aimimg the gun quite tricky. I honestly haven't had a fight this hard since the first time I fought Yellow 13 back in 2002

>>748863598Fuck forgot to post /ourguy/
>>748863535Except we're in 2030, the year Dision canonically died. We should already be seeing actual nationless borders ruled by corporations, not still setting them up slowly (it still doesn't happen at the end of the game). >>748863545The war sure, but the state of the world being borderless and ruled by corporations (GR specifically, with Nucom appearing out of nowhere) didn't happen in 2040. At the very least Usea should have already been in that state when the game starts, or at the very least when the game ends. We get neither. Unless you find it believable that we go from "normal world with borders" to "completely borderless world ruled by corpos also corpo war" in the span of less than a decade.
Oh my cute little dangerhair hapa.If only you knew how violent it's about to get.>>748863567That was right before that post.

>preorder for the AC0 port on Steam.>advertized as its own Steam title>game comes out>it's DLC that requires the 130 Gb AC8 installed to play>no achievements>didn't even bother giving it resolutions above 1600x900>they changed the preorder description to say it was actually ingame dlc so fuck youI feel ripped off. What's even the point of playing this version of the game when I can run it buttery smooth in 4K on PCSX2?
>>748864897You get like 4 flares per mission, you still need to know how to dodge.
so far the cutscenes are pretty long but it's played pretty straight. I was praying it wasn't going to be god awful corny anime tier shit but they're just setting up the world and factions like you'd expect. no walking either really just some qtes which I'm not a fan of but still better than I feared. the cutscenes are pretty cinematic as well, a lot of POV changes and ambient chatter they don't draw attention to while also developing the characters.
Anyone else playing strictly in cockpit view to keep the immersion?
>>748865319I love naval shit so being able to look around/zoom in at the flight crews working and stuff during those cutscenes is cool
>>748865386yeah obv what kind of fag does anything else
>>748863883Trying to play on m+kb was infuriating that first missionHad to swap to controller to get any pitch or roll authority, even when my dpi was cranked to counterstrike awp levels
>>748865016They said in a recent post that they would look into the issue of it being a standalone, whatever that means.I hope they do change it because that last statement is clearly false advertising. I don't want AC8 installed at all times just to be able to play ACZ, especially if it's going to be 140GB.
>>748865319Some of the cutscenes can be daft, like this one. I'm not going to give the context except if you look, you're being eyefucked by the left for most of it.

>>748869448Yep. Perfect setup for GR to move in and take over Usea. But no, 8 does away with that setup to go back to ISAF/IUN/FCU at war again on Usea.
>>748870826>Seriously the plot contrivances this game goes through just to avoid having to give an actual Sotoan perspective is ridiculous.tbf which Ace Combat game doesn't have plot contrivances? (other than 3 or 4)

>>748870932The main issue is never changing Sotoa as the bad guy or playing with it. 5 introduced the grey men halfway, shifting focus away from Yuktobania. 7 got rid of satelite coverage and made you fight alongside Erusia for the last parts of the game. 8 has you fight mission 1 through 9 on Usea against Sotoa, never varies away from that, and mission 30 is you fight one (1) regular ass submarine from Enso. Why couldn't Enso become a recurring big bad for the last 10 missions and show Sotoa as more relatable? Or why not close the Usea campaign around mission 20 and full on attack Sotoa for the last part?As is this is basically AC6 on steroids. Big bad Estovakia/Sotoa invaded Emmeria/Usea and took over Gracemeria/Theve, retake this territory from them. Game over, good job. It's so tame as an AC game.
>>748871114>8 has you fight mission 1 through 29** on Usea against Sotoa
>>748871114The difference is Ace Combat 6 has Gracemeria taken back at Mission 13/15. AC8 has you take Theve back at 8/30, and then you proceed to inflict destruction on the city to stop a land battleship.
>>748871114the game is ac5-2

>>748873243Nope. People figured for years that the reason Bamco never ported and sold AC4/AC5/AC0 on modern platforms is because they would have to renew/renegotiate all the licensing contracts for the planes and the cost of doing that would likely mean they would make nothing from the ports.
>>748873406I'm on Windows 11. I feel like I should be the one experiencing shit because I have 16gb RAM and you apparently have fucking 64gb lmao
>>748873143You must remember that as time moves forward, game devs get worse at optimizing their game for old hardware. AC7 came out 2 years after the Titan card released, so of course it would be factored into the hardware compatibility list. I know it sucks and it's expensive these days, but you should seriously consider buying an aftermarket 40/50 series card if you can get it for a good deal. Except for UGBs and SFFS that can be used on planes still on the ground. So if you only pick AA special missile, you have to use standard missiles for ground targets, and vice versa.
>>748873392>except USSR built planes because they didn't believe in copyright laws. So any Russian plane is fair use.shit, really?even the su57?
>>748873657You can't be serious.
>>748873556I've noticed in multiplayer that standard missile damage against ground targets is actually influenced by your plane's class. An XSAM takes two missiles from a multirole and four from a fighter, for instance.
>>748873682Boeing makes fighters?
>>748873143You are retarded, man. Even medium settings AC8 shits all over Ultra settings AC7
>>748873675The Russians are just happy to see their equipment be depicted as somewhat effective.
>>748873657Boeing made the E-767 AWACS and F/A-18 Super Hornet. They also merged with McDonnell Douglas back in 1997 which made the F-4, F-15, and KC-10.
>>748873473>oh hey, this is the trailer song>second verse starts>cool, magic spear's strings, loved that song and it was about stuff launching out of the atmosphere i guess>then the guitars kick in
>>748873675Yeah, they never bothered copyrighting them. Anyone can use those planes in anything, whether it's Sukhois or MiGs.
>>748873727Oh, I'm a planelet sorry
>>748873706You tell me.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_Defense,_Space_%26_Security
>>748873465Man, I guess. But I've had zero performance problems on anything on this stupid rig since I got it. It's really weird to go from 'working fine and well and no complaints' to 'crashing on mission start' all at once. I guess I'll look around for some new parts. idk. I could definitely use a new CPU too. >>748873706Nigga, they make the jet on the title card.
>>748873713it makes me chuckle that they made such a huge deal about clouds and stuff in 7 and they still looked kinda shittyi wonder what it could've been without all that dev hell
>>748873713Man those clouds look good.
>>748873713I was fairly impressed by the clouds back when 7 came out but they're mindblowing in 8
>>748873587I love that the euros have such an inferiority complex that they have to add a blurb saying how good the Typhoon is.
>>748862012For anons here that's having issues with cutscenes on Zero, I think installing the VP9 codec fixed it for me
>replays now have an option for cockpit camera>the most useless shit ever and at the same time the coolestalso, you can see rex move his flight dick and push the pedals
>>748873706Yeah, but it's more accurate to say that they bought out McDonnell Douglas' fighter division in the merger and have been continuing the business ever since.
>>748866335setting.ini has shit to adjust
>>748873631I dropped the settings to low, kept skipping cutscenes and got to gameplay and it worked just fine.Restarted campaign and watched the cutscenes and crashed again. This sucks dick.
Has anyone tried beating these games without the HUD ? A humbling experience imo.
>>748864765Oh shit the aircraft tree expands after the first time? I'll have to go peep that.
>>748873826Post this shit on PCGamingWiki I'm so serious
>>748873850I was sad I couldn't change the camera perspective to your teammates and see what they were doing when you send them off and look at Kate's beautiful milf eyes.
>>748874038Shame Tasha didn't get an Eye-Tee moment where she completely freaks out at a tunnel run or something.Man why didn't they make a voiced WSO for this game, after how popular and well received Prez/Eye-Tee were.
>>748873657>he doesn't know>>748874038no you do it
I'm just waiting for the inevitable MGSHDFix style open-source patch that fixes everything wrong with the current AC0 port.No achievements is an actual bummer though. I kinda enjoy getting all cheevos of games I really like...
>>748874145I mean, what's wrong with it?
fly in circles up in the sky until you see a dot then hold fire until dot disappearsrepeat fir 10 hourscant make up a more boring game if you tried
>>748872927Can't even get AC6 legit anymore, all the codes have expired.
>>748874128Probably because they didn't want to deal with a character that is technically optional, plus there is a moment where Rex has to bail out and then the game either would have to force you into a 2 Seater to have the WSO tag along or make it so you cannot use a two seater for that mission.
>>748872740Yeah you're fucked.Big rip.
>>748862012That's awesome, but, >$70No
>>748874203I don't know, some autist here probably does though and is buttmad about it. So I'm just gonna wait
>>748874241Its like 20 bucks on ebay...
>>748874128Sucks that Project Wingman is still the only game to have a voiced WSODouble sucks since the F-15E is my planefu and it isn't in that game
>>748862012Chat, is this real ingame?
>>748874208evergreen
>>748873243it's true but I dunno why the plane companies care.what downside is there to allowing your cool plane to be in a video game?>oh no people might become fans of my plane and want to join the airforce to fly it!same for guns, if anything weirder because a glock being in a game is direct incentive for someone to go out and buy said glock.
>>748874278or just pirate itI mean it's just 3GB or something
>>748874310doesnt apply unfortunately
>>748874286There's a sorta F-15 plane in it though. They're all frankenplanes anyway
>>748874373Already got it through the pre order so eh
>>748873706They’re making the new 6th gen’s for the Air Force and navy. Although they just look like stealth slop from the promo pictures.
>>748873143Here, try stuffing this in >%appdata%/local/BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment/ACE COMBAT 8/Saved/Config/Windows/https://files.catbox.moe/pez992.7zIt's my UE5 engine.ini setup that de-gays everything (disables stuff like forced raytracing and upscaling).Doubled my framerate and might fix the game crashing on start for you if the issue is with specific shaders like most out of date cards have. It'll look like ass in the hanger and the brightness will be fucked until you get in game, but once playing it should look okay. Also, try adding the flag '-dx11' to the launch options in steam.
>>748873970I found a solution in the Steam forums, so to anybody else who is crashing in cutscenes:put-DisableAsyncCompute -dpcvars="r.D3D12.AllowAsyncCompute=0"in your launch arguments on Steam.
>>748874402it kinda does doe
>>748874490the fuck? what turned out to be the issue?
>>748862012Can someone tell me that are we heading to Electrosphere timeline?
>>748874405Yeah but I'm talking about the E variant specifically. The ones in PW are based on the C variant and the experimental ACTIVE model, and they're both single seaters in-game. The E is a twin seater strike fighter and there isn't one like that in PW.
>>748874527I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what the problem is, some guy looked at the crash report at saw it point to something related to the D3D12 async-compute path (whatever the fuck that means) and he was smart enough to know what launch arguments avoided it.
>>748874482>Also, try adding the flag '-dx11' to the launch options in steam.Interesting. Didn't think that a game that "requires" raytracing and volumetric clouds would have a way to force DX11 on it.
>UE5 fucked up another game on launch dayevery game on ue5 has had major technical issues, gta 6 ran fine for the leeker and that game was jeeted to hell and back, ue5 is just garbage studios need to drop it
>>748874585yes, the epilogue and appearance of an enigma of darkness superplane make that very clear
>>748874632IIRC UE5 still has it as a fallback option, I know when payday 3 came out it was a mandatory setting to keep the game from shitting itself.Didn't actually make the game any fun to play unfortunately.
>Post yfwOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWAOOOWAOOO
>>748874585The game takes place in 2030 so yes and there's confirmation in the epilogue
>>748874369companies don't want their product to be portrayed in a bad light, and in a war game that can be a lot of reasons, Boeing doesn't want their brand new plane being the "Genocidal War Crime Bomber Civ Annihilator 9000"it's also everywhere, for the longest time you couldn't portray cars in video games with cosmetic damage because the manufacturers would refuse to license it
>>748874482>(disables stuff like forced raytracing and upscaling). Also this is probably the biggest benefit. Not a performance killer but the artifacting even with it set to native is noticeable.
>>748874671Thank you, anon. Buying the game now. I'm such a massive Electrospherefaggot simp.
Who are the biggest pieces of shit in the setting? (After Belka ofc)
>>748874719I guess I can also tell you that the FA-36 Game makes its timeline debut in this game, and you can unlock it in NG+
>>748874758Sotoa now
>>748874758It might unironically be Sotoa.Imagine an entire country of people who are basically the Alicorn crew, willingly following their insane leaders and mindlessly killing civilians without a care in the world.
>>748873243How do you feed and clothe yourself?
>>748874758Sotoa > Belka > Leasath
>>748874758Osea :)
