It's a good game. You just hate it because you think the Stormcloaks were right.

Honestly I just think fungal/parasite body horror is reallly disgusting, and any game playing heavily into that has to be *insanely* good for me to give it a look. I avoided Baldur's Gate for more than a year after it launched because the premise of a slug embedded in the player's skull, Animorphs style, was just that nasty to me. Avowed appears to be a game about a player having some sort of horrific fungal infection growing out of his head, and it's apparently also sort of mid on top of that. I'm never touching it.

It looks good and the combat is fine but it doesn’t feel alive. There’s no scheduling so NPCs just stand around like retards doing nothing all the time and it suffers from a lot of the same problems as The Outer Worlds. If it had come out 10 years ago it would be great but it’s just not up to current standards for an AA or AAA game.
