This string of patches is pretty grim and there’s not much to talk about honestly.

I just don't like how they went and did Chinkshit 2.0 after a year and a half of success. You can tell they were pissed they had to shitcan the 1.X stuff early and then snuck in more of it the moment they thought they could get away with it. The collab was actually done very well and I’m not even a huge Edgerunners fan. Lucy and Rebecca have good models and animations, Rebecca was given for free, they got the actual VAs, crafted a whole ass area and sequences and boss fight, and it had a story that didn’t retcon or shit on the canon. Probably genuinely one of the better collabs out there and not just “oh hey here’s this character lol” with little explanation or 2B showing up in yet another game.
Lahai-Roi was also a good arc with a lot happening and good characters.
Both of those just highlight how fucking lackluster China 2.0 is. And with them fumbling Hsin this shit just needs to be over already.

I was pretty disappointed with Yapyap. SP versions should never be this lame, like it's Yapyap again but in a somehow more boring more chinese outfit, and that as a havoc unit. They needed to make her edgy, let her keep the beret (removing it was silly, it looked good and made her stand out in her original design), gave her an eyepatch maybe. Have her power be so strong that it breaks her sword after a few swings and her birds (or better yet the ravens that surrounded her in once cutscene) carry a bunch of sheathed spares, hovering around her.

That's something I wish I knew because it's all up to Kuro's whims. But if we take past examples as a forecast for the future (Ciaccona/Cartethiya, Phoebe/Zani, Lucilla/Hiyuki) then it's safe to assume Suoming will find SOME use in future teams, but she will always be best served for Hsin

I don't have her so I can't speak for her battle mechanics, but she has a movie star/secret agent Bond Girl vibe to her character archetype. She uses photo cameras when she fights, and when you use her ult she switches forms to Yor Forger from Spy x Family and fights with knives made from camera film. Her overworld gimmick is fun because you can take pictures and apply a filter over the photo, and then you can see that filter literally affect the overworld landscape in real time as you move around. It's quite trippy
