Funnily enough I decided today at work to use AI to translate an old GBA game I really wanted to play in english and though it took a while I got the first stage playable in english now. I think I'll keep working on it and release the complete thing in the future but it's surprisingly more work than I thought since I had to correct a lot of issues like text alignments, doublechecking the translations, ensuring that the text input system works and fixing the fonts and etc. Either way I'm having fun and I'm glad AI exists for me to do this because I wouldnt be spending years working on a fan translation otherwise since I'm so busy.

The only real place you will see a localization in serious literature is when an already localized loan idiom or saying is already erroneous in the original language it is loaned from. Basically if One language borrows an idiom or word from another then uses said word or idiom but in the context of their own culture, directly translating the loan word or idiom back into the original language is not actually the intent of the speaker. That’s the actual case for localization. Erroneous use of foreign loan words or sayings where there is a disconnect in meaning between the original language and the loan word.
