Video games are meant to be fun, not frustrating. This is why easy games with good design reign superior over difficult games with artificial difficulty.

I did a lot of sports and things growing up that leads me to seek out challenges. A lot of games become that, and I wouldn't describe them as difficult. They are ordeals that you sign up for. Most difficult games will inevitably be beaten if you spend enough time in them. It just takes a certain personality to actually enjoy it.
