The main story quest is the biggest offender of girlslop, but it's relatively short and you can skip the dialogue. The barbie shit is surface level though. There's a surprising amount of depth to the game that kids won't normally see or appreciate, specifically the side quest and endgame content

There's at least 2 big hub areas where you can meet and greet other players, message each other, and earn rewards for raising friendship levels. You have the option to play a flute in the overworld, and a complete stranger can choose to pop in and join your world. If you hear a flute playing when you're just minding your own business, it's a signal that another player is sending out, and you can choose to join their world instead. There are also 3 puzzle dungeons that require Co op in order to even go inside

Why does it need to be transactional? Why can't I do it whenever I want instead of only when the Aniimo asks? Why can I only do it at home instead of outside? They could have done more to make it an interesting side gig, but the execution just feels bad. Which is strange, considering the little speech bubbles they have do a good job of showing off expressions.

I think my main reason for disliking this games creatures is they all have that... I don't know, pixar or dreamworks look to them? It just puts me off for some reason. But it is still better than the majority of Modern pokemon though.
