This is true. My older brother drank himself to death at 40. By the end he was a burden to everyone and his wife and kid are able to finally live a life not revolving around his hospital visits and having to treat him like a toddler from his wet brain.

I've got some moonshine i've acquired from a questionable source I intend to drink soon. All I know is it smells like petrol and a guesstimate puts it at over 50%. I have also made the best worst decision to not eat anything all day so this is going to hit me like a freight train.

However I do intend to play stalker with some hardbass blasting while doing so and as such I anticipate fun.

I drank like this for 15 years, quit nearly 2 years ago. It was hard as fuck to stop and when I did I was so fucking bored I wanted to die for about 6 months, and then it just got better. Not waking up hungover every day finally started feeling normal. Had a couple times I had a few beers and feeling hangovers again felt fucking awful and I wondered how I ever functioned like that every day. My cholesterol was fucked and I was starting to get fatty liver which meant cirrhosis was coming sooner or later. One year after stopping, everything thankfully went back to normal. I look and feel younger and healthier at 35 than I ever did in all of my 20s. Anyway, the way to do it is first decide you really want to. The rest is different for everyone, for me I had recently had a kid and decided I absolutely would not make him have to watch me die a horrific death from cirrhosis, then I was honest with a doctor about my drinking and he gave me naltrexone, which changed the rewarding effect that booze has on my brain, so it didn't feel impossible anymore to not grab a beer and start drinking which always led to continuing drinking until I fell asleep and started again sometime the next day. Therapy also helped, looking at the underlying shit that made me want to drink all the time in the first place. AA is a meme full of a whole other level of insane people, but I guess it works for certain people. So basically it's a mix of "stop being a faggot and just do it," asking a doctor for help if necessary, and finding something or someone to help keep you accountable. It is incredibly hard to do completely by yourself. I miss booze but I'm a lot better off without it. Good luck, fellow degenerates.
