how do you rate Rex' level as a pilot compared to other protags when its all said and done? He had a squad help which makes him lose points compared to Mobius, but honestly so many missions in this game are basically "go singlehandedly complete this mission, our entire fate depends on it" i mean the megafloat was supposed to be basically invincible and you sink it. You singlehandedly beat a shadow squadron of like 12. Nobody is really doubtful or dooming when you go out to fight 1,000 enemy bogeys with 2 other people. Plenty of missions are direct sequels to previous ones where you get basically no rest time.

It takes a while to unlock the French Rafale, which is one of the few euro planes capable of catobar assisted launch off carriers, namely Frances sole carrier, the Charles de Gaulle. By the time you unlock the Rafale, the carrier restriction won't be as common, so you're probably best off just rushing for an F-18 upgrage.

>>748917356NO isn't a full simulator, but it's much closer in that you can overstress your plane, you can overstress your pilot, it has spins, loss of control, if a missile misses, it can still go off from proximity and damage your flight model, it's a different beast and you have to approach flying a different way. Not to mention that planes don't really have much in terms of momentum or mass in AC and that's what lets the post-stall maneuvering thing instantly stop a plane from subsonic flight while you can slip a plane into an uncontrollable spin doing that in NO.
