The reason why gen 5 was bad and why Pokemon has sucked shit since then is because it didn't have nostalgia remakes. Gen 3 and gen 4, they made new games for new fans, and remakes of gen 1 and gen 2 for older nostalgia players. Gen 5 they stopped doing that, and tried to balance new players and older nostalgia players together, which resulted in the current bullshit mess. On top of that, later remakes stopped being about nostalgia for older players, and became about casualizing older games for newer players, the exact opposite of what they previously were.
