For me it was Yusuke

I dunno, it wouldn't be that much of a factor in the US but considering that p5 protag had to straight up change schools and is generally treated by everyone at school as some kind of crazed psychopath just for "assaulting" someone it's not a stretch to believe a japanese politician's career ending after someone reveals ties to criminal activity

It's Japan, not America.

I guess it doesn't count when the charges are falsified.

>losing to a convicted criminal
epic own

Yes but he was a bro.

The charges, officer?
I still don't understand what Joker needed to testify about so badly that he turned himself in when the only charges against Shido were election rigging which nobody on the cast could give any testimony about. Felt like just more of Japan's rulescuck shit like Kiryu being a good goy and refusing to get a lawyer in Yakuza 6.

New fed pretending to be a schizo just dropped.

Difference is that the bald rapist would admit he's a bald rapist. As far as I'm aware, no politician has actually admitted to being a rapist on national television.

Even setting aside like, the various ethnic groups globally that have their own positions on committing criminal acts, the legal systems are so fucked nowadays it's not really as simple as saying
>He's a criminal and from that you can extrapolate a general idea of what kind of person he is!
At least in America our legal system has been completely buttfucked by lawyers and law enforcement officials that realized it's technically optional to actually go through the process of civil and societal restitution and that it can also be used to effectively generate new laws even though that's not how that's supposed to work.

Yasuke looks like that?

I guess another way you could look at this is like, the category of "Felon".
Yeah, there's some genuinely fucked shit that you'd have to do to become a felon if you just thought about it off the top of your head, but that could be some ACTUAL shit you'd probably distance yourself from someone permanently, or it could be playing a DVD on your DVD player because the wording of the DMCA is retarded and the concept of cruel and unusual punishments has completely gone out the window and that's a four year long offense and at a minimum a felony is technically any offense that gets you at least a year in prison on your sentence.

He was idealistic. hopeful, even...

Pretty sure that's true in Japan considering if a celebrity gets caught with even a tiny baggie of weed, they're basically the devil himself manifested and should be beaten in the streets.
That said, drugs are still popular as hell over there anyways. It's more feigned outrage than anything which is arguably worse. Stupid country
>>
in japan it's enough for an idol to be photographed kissing her boyfriend for her entire career to be ruined. it's just how their minds work
>>
..he was with her...
...how could this happen...
