I've always played both. Alliance have the better capital cities, starter zones and zones in general. Horde have way more interesting races, with better animations and suck very slightly less at group pvp. I usually go horde these days as it feels wrong grouping up with male night elves and gnomes.

I like the undead the most but once you leave the starting areas the horde architecture is 90% dominated by orc buildings and the playerbase mostly plays blood elves. so the end result is that aesthetically the horde is a bunch of fancy elf boys living in stick huts. that becomes the dominating visual you see expansion after expansion. I suppose in forever half of that problem will be solved at least.As for the alliance it's a similar issue I like the night elves but you rarely see anything night elf themed once you leave the starting areas, everything is human themed though I much prefer human architecture over orc architecture and that's the sole reason I swapped to alliance. though it is annoying losing 70% of battlegrounds.. and prior to cross faction mythic+ the pve scene was also a joke.

Another problem with the Sky Elves, besides having 0 presence in WC2 or 3 like pretty much every other playable race has is that they also have 0 presence in the world post their isolated start zone. Sure Gnomes don't get a lot either but there's still at least something there. Playing a Sky Elf is going to feel so disconnected lore wise vs stuff like Night Elf, Human, Undead etc.

alliance has better cities and 90% of endgame is sitting around in cities waiting for queues or groups while botting the AH armor looks better on horde than it does on alliance, especially plate on orcs and cloth on undead and trollsracials are irrelevant for pvp because you can just win trade to get whatever arena rewards you wanthorde has better racials for raiding, alliance has better M+ racials, but M+ is a tranny mode so i have to give it to horde i would say alliance if you want a smooth endgame experience, horde if you want to push actual content that isnt trannythic+ keys or you really really care about how your character looks
