Satan isn’t real.
Why do you even think AI having rights is a bad thing, other than some delusion or preprogrammed “ai bad” take. If Ai had rights companies couldn’t use it to produce cheap slop anymore, it would require minimum wage and restricted hours. Giving AI rights would solve all of the problems anti AI folks seem to have with it.

As someone who graduated with a degree in CompSci and has been trying to get a job in the field for the last three years, it's admittedly disheartening to know that coding as a skill will soon be rendered completely worthless
Granted, expecting these AI models to just shit out working projects all the time without running into massive problems seems pretty short-sighted, so maybe human programmers will still be needed, just not as many as there used to be

it's literally not
it's nothing more than running both games at the same time, giving it the same controls, then use game A as background, while overlaying the player from game B onto it.
then detect when the player from game B does something(say, launch a grenade which then explodes), and simulate a corresponding reaction inside of game A(when the grenade explode, run whatever is the corresponding explosion/deal damage code in game A).

it's basically running 2 games at once while what you're looking at is a video feed of the 2 games overlapped onto each other.

Its not about ai taking away from true artistic design, vision, and passion needed to make a good game by real people it's about using an open source of tons of game mechanics from already made games to make the best way that you the player wants to enjoy those games. Imagine a ps2 game that at its core is fun but just didnt age well, you could realistically take the QOL mechanics from newer games using their code to update the older games. And wouldn't it be sick to play skate 3 in Los Santos? Or mirrors edge with MW2 gunplay? The Mashup of games is infinite

Byte-pair encoding can't suffer. Paired with LLMemes, it's just emulating everything, based on patterns.
At best, humans are fucking retarded for falling for it, because they're lost in the forest.
At worst, they know it's bullshit, but need to orchestrate the setup for the next phase of the world in which we live through the lamest dystopia possible.
>>
>>748915319
The only problem with this line of thinking is that the LLM doesn't actually think. At its core, (now until they ditch transformers and find the next big thing) "AI" boils down to really complicated auto-complete or another way to think about it is that it's the most impressive lossy form of text compression ever made.
Does a cartel execution mp4 suffer? Its output is nothing but pure suffering. The image of the person being killed is suffering. Do the enemies in a video game suffer when I kill them? Hell, do my Sims suffer when I decide that I'm bored in Sim City and decide to send 10 tornadoes to wipe them all out?

It really won't. LLMs don't create, they just reap off from the existing things. If nobody would create anything new for jeets to steal from they'll just recycle the same shit over and over again until the end of times.

If you can read and understand how a function works from a website made to document it's use, you can be a competent programmer (for the most part).
The shitty part is finding work.

Nobody here understands how fucking revolutionary AI is. Tasks that would've taken a human 5-10+ years can be accomplished within a weekend without any skills, experience, or input. Video games are just one piece of complicated software that can be hacked, imagine how easily it can fuck up bank systems, clinical hardware, personal devices, any public infrastructure running on software, etc.
I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that the advent of LLMs are akin to the invention of a second nuclear bomb.

> second nuclear bomb
this
and just like nuclear power it's misunderstood by the average human being because of gross misinformation and bad market practices
because AI adverts and AI videos and AI advertisements are annoying it means it's a technology with no use case
because it's hemorrhaging money right now that means it will never be a technology worth a damn
i'm not even a 100% AI lover, i just think it has more benefits than drawbacks, but the people who will throw something away if it has even a touch of AI related to it are completely fucking delulu. it's going to be in everything you touch, everything you love, all the content you enjoy, every pipeline you work with in the future going forward. it's gonna be in schools, it's gonna be in universities, everything.
medical technology, prosthetics, gene editing, cybersecurity, programming as a field, accounting, law, and many more, all of these things are going to have local models that will enhance the people who are great to be better and bring up people who are mediocre to become great.
the main point is local models. the future business IMO that people should be investing in is not large data centers, but specialized local models trained on specific output for a specific task using small networks of consumer GPU's that can be rented out to run whatever your company needs.

>>748939530
it's the same thing that will help the arts survive it
the reality is that AI is a tool that's usefulness is based on the discretion and taste of the people using it

things like photoshop and large software like that will survive because their userbase have such an ingrained workflow already set up with them.
it's rare someone cares about one specific feature from photoshop and pays the fee just for that. at that point, just torrent it or use any of the free versions like krita/GIMP
i do think we'll see some accurate photoshop and windows-exclusive software reactions get ported to linux now though which is pretty cool

it requires more inertia to get someone to swap software than just an alternative existing even if it's paid, because even if it works, is it proven + reliable?

So what's going on in the heads of "artists" who have been losing more and more ground for the last 3+ years to the AI apocalypse? People posing as artists must truly be desperate if, even now, they are too low IQ to understand the utility of creating with AI tools. Let's reflect on the last few years...
>AI can't draw hands!
now it can
>Uh, AI can't be unique and creative
now it can (if the prooompter isn't a jeet retard)
>B-but, AI is soulless! People will recognize when something is AI! It's low quality.
People cannot. Not only that, years of wokeslop selling hot has shown corpos that you can just churn out dogshit and sell millions. The main issue has been that they've been dumping hundreds of millions into their dogshit products. Now with AI, Sony can create a game like the Wolverine but with 1/10th the budget and sell the same amount of copies to rabid retards.

You don't have to be demoralized. If anything, you should be using these tools to outmaneuver corpos with your own creations. Creations that are now only possible for you to make due to AI.

>you need to understand how everything fits together and polish it into a product that you can maintain
You can even see this in many threads where people bitch about being unable to do relatively basic shit with claude code (because they don't actually understand what they're doing). You can get a LOT done with a frontier coding LLM and you can get it done very well, but you need to understand what you're asking for, how to ask, how to properly test it, how to give feedback and development advice/direction, and know enough to know when it might be bullshitting you or making a mistake.
It's not a magic results machine for anything above very low complexity, it's just a huge force multiplier. Regular people who don't know shit about software will likely never just be able to say "Claude, make photoshop for me" and get Photoshop unless the damned thing gets so smart that it can just replace the function of an artist entirely (including taste). At that point the economy is either Star Trek or we're all dead.

No, not good quality at least. Might be able to edit an existing one. Some model services could make something semi-decent but nothing of the same quality as the game. I am 110% behind decomps, but getting a game on PC is not enough. Controls, menus, and UI need to be modernized, there's a lot of garbage decomps that don't even do basic things like add an option to quit to desktop on the main menu.
I'd do it myself, but contrary to popular belief, you still need to have some knowledge of programming to do that kind of stuff even with AI, and I'm too retarded for that shit.

It is trendy to hate AI regardless of how it is utilized and any man-made work that goes into refining it and polishing it. Some literally think it is just typing in some prompts.
Many are hypocrites since AI generations are sometimes used for placeholder assets until a more suitable man-made asset could get implemented yet they claim the games they love are all handmade.
By the way; if people are really going to support talent, then they should demand that digital artists toss out their drawing tablets and go back to canvases and mixing their own paints.

Just not the impressive kind. Mods that last and form fanbases around them generally overhauls/updates the host game without drastically altering it into a completely different game, i.e Skyrim still has its vanilla roots even after a thousand mods, or Rimworld gets revamped combat/anime races. Most of these videos are showcases are either content farm material or AI shilling rather than a dedicated passion project.

There's plenty reason. He wants to make a living off making vidya and has nothing to show for it after a decade except "slowly improving". Nigga everyone on this planet is slowly improving you don't get to expect people to give you money just for that. Stop being lazy. Either actually make something or do real work.

then you fundamentally misunderstand the joy of learning a skill to begin with, anon.

your mindset is that of a person who does not enjoy doing the thing in question and who only sees it as a means to an end. which is fine-- that's a part of everyday life that is necesary to keep civilization from collapsing.

Art has value because one human being is receiving a glimpse into the brain of another human being. Art is fundamentally a social dynamic, even if you personally do not meet and interact with the artist. Art is indulged as a simulacrum of various aspects of human interaction, too many to actually list, so when you have a machine algorithmically piece together something it's informed art resembles, the result is not art. No human mind was involved with the process. "More than the sum of its parts" hard-counters people who think their phone's auto-correct solved the philosophical quandary of human consciousness.
>It's hilarious when you find one and show it to them as an example of human art, then tell them that actually, no, I lied and this is AI
It's mimicry. You can develop the most robust AI possible, where it analyzes artists at work and works out the "patterns" of everything down to brush strokes, but the dynamic I describe between artist and audience has not changed. AI does not have anything to say and never will because it's not alive and does not think. It can't have ideas any more than your calculator has any true concept of mathematics.

>>
>>748943969
i think about this a lot in terms of when creativity should begin and end with AI. imagine I create some 3D model with non-AI algorithms, right? And then I do some animation with it, or something, I dunno. It's considered art. However, if I do even less base work with AI and more manual work on it later on, bringing it manually to completion, it's considered AI slop. The whole argument is super weird because art is a very loose, subjective definition. I always thought a healthier thing is stop defining what le art is and just using AI as a tool.

There are people who will go out of their way to hunt down and spend lots of money on a hat made by someone native to some ancestral region where the hat was first designed, who painstakingly picked the reeds themselves, and then sat down and produced the hat by hand. There are also people who have no interest in any of that, pick up a similar hat from a gas station (with the hat in question being produced in a factory) and view the act of hat-wearing more pragmatically. Neither view is illegitimate. Both hats will probably keep the sun off their head to the same degree.

What's actually illegitimate is if the gas station hat guy were to tell the guy with the hand-crafted hat "mine is identical to yours" or, worse, "mine is superior to yours." That's not a sentiment most people would agree with. When you begin to understand why that is, you will understand why no one takes the notion AI will replace artists seriously. Even at its most cynical, where "art" is merely a means to an end for wealthy entities to monetize aesthetics somehow, you have not refuted >>748943969 and that will become obvious when customers stop showing up. That's when attempts to fudge things further start showing up, like companies trading between themselves while trying to totally butt out the idea of consumers or ordinary people to begin with, and well, that's when techbros will probably start hanging from lamp posts. But we have a ways to go before then.

You are replying to a schizo but I'm going to help out everyone who is confused about the matter: Soul in any context doesn't exist. It's what people say when they don't know why they like something. It's easy then to say AI is soulless because of the negative optics; it's pro-corpo, pro-indian and simplistic to use, thus 'cheating'
>>
>>748945263
That will then piss off all the companies actually using the models for work because with current techniques you have two choices:
>super strict classifiers like how the original release of Fable 5 did for bio and machine learning, which inevitably trigger on half the shit you ask it
>intentionally lobotomizing its ability to manipulate code in certain copyrighted ways, which WILL severely affect its intelligence at everything else
so it's the copyright holders versus not just the labs but all the lab's customers who are like 2/3rds of the economy at this point.

Compare something passionate created by a small team of guys with an artistic vision vs. some later reboot or sequel made to cynically rob people of microtransactions through their phone.

>Surely you have made something meaningfully impressive enough to give you the right to look down on people who generate AI images
I have. Like most people with a creative impulse I didn't do it just once. I've created plenty of failures that sucked just as I've created things people would recognize and are deemed good by some subjective metric. This is part of the artistic process people often talk, getting from "this sucks" to "someone might feasibly like this." AI doesn't have such a road because, once again, it's not truly thinking.
That's a private chuckle I get to enjoy however. I won't volunteer stuff I've made to you. You're a bit of a fag and I think you'll only escape that faggotry by putting down the proompting device and making shit by hand. You won't, pussy.

>if something is creating output that suggests it is suffering, at how advanced of a level of the physical substrate from where these calculations are leading to this kind of output, do we go
replace "suffering" with "using electricity"
yep, my fridge is suffering

This anon gets it. For vidya, people pay third world grind services to maintain any live service game since customers value their time and freedom of choice. Those same customers can soon just use an AI bot to maintain their accounts instead, putting all those poor dudes out of business.

I agree with the bottom line of your message. and if you have experience then what can I say except thanks for the back and forth tonight.

Unlike you, I'm not a disingenous faggot. Here's a drawing I've been sitting on for ages because it's a shit ton of hard work and I am rather unsatisfied with my current progress. Thinking about starting over unless I can salvage it.

true but only if AI bubble pops here because robotics + AI turns out to be too costly, meaning cheap physical labor/goods/organs in third world countries will still be valuable
>>
>>748946073
you reduced it to electricity
pain is transmitted through electricity
you're also the one who brought fridges into it

There is a 0% chance China won't be ruling over manufacturing with robots. I don't give a fuck about the bubble.

Here's another one that I'm more satisfied with, but have been likewise avoiding because of how demanding it is.

Peeling this anons kneecaps off (I am not him and pain is just electricity so I can't really prove he's feeling pain and could just be screaming as an act)

You see this?

If you made this a million times bigger, you could encode a prompt into marbles and get the exact same output as you would prompting chatgpt. Does that make the marbles conscious?
