What went wrong?
>>748914857It was set in nu-Zelda. BoTW and every game since has been ass.
>>748914857I don't even know what is that but looks like gay, bland and boring
>>748914857Hyrule Warrios was my first musouslop, by the second game i already had musouslop fatigue..., wish they try another genres and partners for next spinoffs
>>748914857A cast of mostly new yet uninteresting characters, in an old setting, using a bland art style.
>>74891485780€ for a spinoff, never on discount
>>748914857I don't give a single shit about any of the characters for starters. Like who are those secondaries? I got the first Hyrule warriors just to see Midna again, what does the ubisoft series have?
>>748914857>a “fanservice musou” game starring a bunch of no-name glup shitto OCs entirely centered around the recycled sequel to the most normie-core Zelda game with none of the tactics of the original Hyrule WarriorsGee, I wonder why it appealed to no one.
>>748914857Boring setting. Nobody gives a shit about the zonai
>>748914857What were they thinking with this cast of literal whos
>>748918245They thought Zelda alone could carry it
>>748914857Based on a game with a shitty story. The champions were cool and the calamity stuff was interestingNobody ever gave a shit about the zonai ever since the game dropped and they went from that weird mysterious tribe in BOTW to sheikah 2.0
Nobody cares about these fucking BotW characters
>>748914857The story setting wasn't interesting. AoC had the only interesting one seeing the demise of the Champions, but even that one they botched giving it a happy ending making it non canon.
>>748914857It's the best musou game ever made. It's a pretty decently big improvement over Age of Calamity. Which was already the best musou game before Age of Imprisonment surpassed it. So it went pretty right.
>>748914857I was a Hyrule Warriors Lengend JunkieI also put in 100% on Age of Calmity.I never asked for this or wanted to go back to the BOTW/TOTK world. I don't think this was for anyone really.
>>748919680>calling a Musou where the enemy doesn’t attempt to strategically fight back against your captures the best one
>>748918245Just looking an excuse to make a new Zelda Musou game. They already blew their load in AoC being an interesting setting seeing the heroes lose, only for them to say nah with the ending. Tears of the Kingdom was already running on fumes with the setting.
>>748918795>The champions were coolGot to disagree. I have never cared about any Zelda character who isn't Link and Zelda. Not even Ganondorf impresses me. The only character that impressed me was Majora's Mask. The other characters? Lame disposable not even one note trash.Zelda has always been rather terrible at making compelling fleshed out characters to the point I think Midna was a fluke. Mario by comparison? I can think of multiple characters who are endearing without being the core founding characters like Mario and Bowser. Mario has Wario, Dimentio, Fawful, etc. And in a game that demands a good roster you can't afford to include trite characters which is Zelda's problem.
>>748914857They kinda shot themselves in the foot by starting the series with a game that has such huge variety of characters and artstyles across the franchise, they went from having something for everybody to exclusively fanservice for people that liked Breath of the Wild. Personally I think the BOTW art style + characters are hideous and uninteresting, but I still would have bought the games if they built off the foundation of the first HW.
>>748921148>They kinda shot themselves in the foot by starting the series with a game that has such huge variety of characters and artstyles across the franchisethisnowhere to go but down
>>748920024>doesn’t attempt to strategically fight back against your capturesThe relative irrelevancy of regular NPC armies is easily the biggest flaw of both AoC and AoI. But it's more than made up for how the combat, and boss fights especially, aren't absolute ass. Which makes the actual moment to moment gameplay something that is actually enjoyable. Instead of something you just tolerate while managing the armies and related strongholds. Maybe one day we'll get a game that can deliver on both. But so far AoI is the best game.
>>748919105No, you stupid, arrogant fool. People don't care about these fucking ToTK characters. BotW ones are fine.Four of the heroes here are faceless, nameless cookie-cutter characters in ToTK. One is blatantly Link but not, because Link can't be here. One is the dumbass robot you have a boxing match with.
>>748914857It's a dynasty warriors game, aren't they all basically the same?
>>748914857Damn zonai aesthetic is so shitSad TotK replaced sheikah with that shit
I can't believe they're still making these
>>748922702I remember for the first time playing TOTK when it leaked like a week early and seeing they they replaced shrines with a fucking rock and feeling mad that I already had the game on preorder
There's like 4 established characters from the time period this is set in and you can't even play as 2 of them
Lenalia was such a goofy retard design, looked like an Ordon village NPC in BOTW
Why did the zonai replace the sheikah?
>>748914857NothingIt made TotK retroactively a better game
>>748921396There's shitloads of character action games that are miles better at doing that though, thus I don't play a musou to get a subpar knockoff of one of those. Like it or not, the military strategery still matters a lot more than the combat because the combat even at it's peak is pretty bland when you compare it to a refined action game. And given that those games, like AoC/AoI, are fairly linear experiences, the question becomes why I'd play either of those on a console that also has Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Nier Automata, and No More Heroes to pick from among others.
