Trying to play this, but having a hard time. The MC is just awful, hard to look at and hard to listen to. It has a weird looter mechanic with weapon and character mods that just don't seem interesting. And the inclusion of live action cutscenes is god awful and immersion breaking. Is it worth pushing through?
>>748924758i doubt you'll like the next ten hours then
>>748924758Wait until you realize the hardest enemy is the map.
>>748924758The Oldest House setting and side missions are what makes this a great game, not the characters
>>748924758Its always funny to me how they tried to make her look cuter in the posters lmao
>>748924758>Is it worth pushing through?I enjoyed damn near everything about this game. However, if you're not having fun, stop. There is no value in spite playing. Games are meant to be fun.Tangentially, I wish more gamers would stop playing and whining about games they don't like. Instead they should start playing and talking about games they like.
>>748925251the signs weren't so bad but the fucking game not even telling you what to do when you get there was dumb
>>748924758Im playing it right now and its fun. No idea what your problem is with the mc, shes pretty normal and only looking for her brother. The only complaint i have is that i find the incursion missions annoying
>>748925952>"hard to look at and hard to listen to">No idea what your problem is with the mc
you've just got bad taste, opplaying for longer isn't going to help with that
>>748924758she has forspoken tier dialogue but no one calls them out on it
>>748927375I wouldn't say it's THAT bad, but it's pretty close, and made more obnoxious as this is meant to be a woman in her mid 30s and not a teenager
>>748924758Hey alright OP I'm sorry to hear you don't like the game but not everybody has to like everything. I hope you get to play something you enjoy
>>748924758Probably not, especially if you don't like the live action stuff. You just won't like the game's style. If you liked the gameplay at least then sure, but doesn't seem to be the case.Since you even bothered to make this thread instead of just dropping it I guess you kinda want to like the game, so maybe focus on the main quest for a couple more hours to see if it grabs you and then drop it if not.Unless you're trying to get a refund, in which case then I guess you should just go for it.
>>748927375My best friend Nick Mullen has mentioned it.
>>748924758Jesse gets more tolerable later on and in the DLCs. Courtney appears to have a bit of an overacting problem.
>>748927687I'm gay and my dick is small
If dont find the whole SCP setting and jungian supernatural shit compelling I wouldn't bother. The combat and exploration gets very repetitive after a while, they're not bad, but they don't meaningfully change either. (Apart from one ability you get pretty late into the game)
my problem with this game is that it's clearly inspired by scp but it also trivializes its own setting by giving you a very pedestrian explanation for why the items are what they are and how they get their magic powers. It just sabotages itself and sucks all the mystery out of itself, the only things left with any sense of wonder are the house itself and its enemy.I dunno why they fuck anyone would think a setting like scp needs a direct explanation for anomalous events. The entire appeal of that genre is the lack of explanation.
>>748925328Even they are wasted potential. Control is a lot of cool ideas and moments that never click together into a good game.
Funny thing is actress behind the main character is actually good looking. They uglified her for no reason.
>>748930753>actually good lookingAre you sure about that?
>>748928730>>748931091I wouldn't say shes hot but she has that mid-2000s action movie actress vibe about her.
>>748928730pretty much.if you can get it on a big discount its ok.
>>748924758if you can soldier through until you get levitation the game play really takes off, also the Ashtray maze alone almost makes the game worth it
>>748925653Need more yellow paint mayhaps?
I played about 7 hours of it then uninstalled. Not really my thing.
>>748933437perybe...
>>748931091Moreso than her in game model, yes.
The story and world building kinda filtered me. Not in the sense that I didnt get it but that it feels deliberately stale and mundane at times. The hook is basically "What would it be like to actually work at an occult glownigger bureau?" which is a funny premise but in practice you're reading tons of text documents about people asking for papers by friday and complaining about mold in the fridge. So much of the writing is just about bureaucracy and company politics
>>748935826The premise and story are the only things hooking me, but I've literally only played an hour and they've already thrown so much wacky shit out there that I feel like it's run its course. Also, and this isn't the game's fault necessarily, but this whole "retro corporate government conspiracy" thing has been done so much lately that it feels stale. It obviously apes off SCP, but we've also had Severence, the Loki show, that shitty Destiny dlc, and a whole bunch more
