>he's still gaming at 1440p
>>
these monitors suck. everything is too tiny on them. you have to scale everything up, adding fake pixels. it's all a lie. fake resolution
>>
Explain why I should increase resolution instead of hz.
>>
>>748925102
human eye cant see more than 30 fps
>>
>>748924920
> has to either have a 100 inch monitor or use a magnifying glass to even see what the fuck is going on the screen.

No ty. 1440p is perfect.
>>
>>748924920
1080p actually, and im comppletely fine
>>
>>748924920
1440p is still the sweet spot and will be for a long time.
>>
>>748925102
usecase for higher hz?
>>
24"/1080p or 27"/1440p is the ideal dpi.
>>
>>748924920
>1440p
Try 1080p, fucko. No stolen frames here.
>>
idk if its just me but i notice fuzziness on lines on 1440p more than 1080p, am i just retarded?
>>
>>748925204
>24 1440p
Ftfy
>>
>>748925102
hz is a meme. you unironically do not need more than 60 in 99% of games.
>b-b-b-bbut multiplayer slop! i have to slide cancel at 360hz in my favorite arc raiders crap!
kys

Resolution will always look nice and works with any content. hz only benefit is for gaymen.
>>
>>748925175
you can still see aliasing at 1440p and the image can still look soft with forced TAA games
>>
>>748925257
60hz feels like shit, 120hz is the spot and 144hz is the start of diminishing returns.
>>
>>748925274
so apply sharpening
softness doesn't go away with resolution
higher resolution allows you to apply more sharpness without introducing haloing
>>
>>748924920
Yes, because upscaling looks like dogshit and a 5090 can't even handle 4k
>>
6k monitors have been a thing for almost decade though
>>
>>748925181
>>748925257
My eyes work, I can see triple digit frame rates. I don't play multiplayer slop.
>>
>>748925415
>so apply sharpening
or just use a higher res so you should not have to ruin your image with post processing crap
>>
>>748925274
Good thing I don't play those games.
>>
>>748924920
1080p, now fuck off
>>
>>748925457
none with higher than 60hz though
>>
>>748925538
But i can also see the improved sharpness and clarity due to the increase in resolution
>>
>>748924920
Ok but should I get OLED though
>>
>>748925546
you won't ever get a sharp game without postprocessing
all those msaa and ssaa games you played in the past relied on sharpening to not look like smeared vaseline
>>
>>748925691
I prefer higher frame rates.
>>
Honestly for monitor usage something akin to 5k or 6k (yeah they aren't "real" resolutions but close enough in naming) is basically where resolutions need to stop as you get razor sharp image quality more or less at the limit if typical visual acuity. Now TVs need to go higher simply because screens are much bigger even factoring the increased viewing distance.

A 32" 6k monitor needs no AA and in this age of upscalers a 6k balanced looks better than native 4k.
>>
>>748925643
maybe maybe. also misstyped meant 5k. although 6k has been a a thing for a while i think? remember sister having 5k monitor years ago
>>
>>748925725
is what you think MSAA and SMAA is? a sharpness filter
>>
>>748925696
Oled tv? yeah
Oled monitor? no they arent meant for desktop usage and monitors are completely cucked compared to desktop counterparts in terms of hdr brightness (the main selling point of oled)
>>
>>748925257
>hz only benefit is for gaymen.
Funny you say this when 60hz has been shit for movies and anime forever. Even if you don't play games at all 60hz is not enough. 120 at least so 24fps fits nicely with a new frame every 5 refreshes.
>>
4k is a waste of processing power. Looks 95% the same as 1440p for double the performance cost.
>>
>>748925956
this is simply not true
>>
>>748925274
bro your DLDSR?
downsampling solves both issues
>>
>>748925956
1440p looks closer to 1080p than it does to 4k
>>
>>748924920
>6K
As >>748925074 says, welcome to gay fucking upscaling, because your nigger-gpu is now getting taxed 4x as hard.
>>
>>748926110
it will still look like 1440p but without the aliasing(which is a good middle ground)
but it won't look as crisp as true 4k
>>
>this monitor has a dual mode 3k 330hz
>>
>>748926214
yeah, but the post was complaining about aliasing and TAA blur at 1440p, I'm not claiming it looks as good as a 4K screen, I'm just saying those are easily fixable issues.
>>
>>748925878
For the most part, that's because you're sitting with your face closer to the screen than you've ever been to a pussy since your mother's, when it comes to desktops.
Getting beamed bright in the face isn't really that great. That being said, you can just calibrate it, or get an oled that isn't known to suck.

Overall I'd agree with getting oled for tv, and not getting it for a desktop; they suck for reading, and for dark-mode work software you often end up seeing those thin grey vertical flicker lines. So if you work with visual shit, don't get one for desktop.
If you're just using it for movies, sure.

there are no 4k gpus on the market, let alone 6k

There are no 1080p gpus on the market. You try maxing out deus ex mankind divided (a game from 2016 btw).
>>
>>748926673
>if you get a 4k screen you MUST play modern games
>>
>>748926806
easy unless you're using the bugged dx12 option which halves your fps
>>
>>748924920
what's the point? Larping as an ant crawling over surfaces?
>>
>>748924920
1080p ultra 144hz all i need
>>
>>748926919
Nope, even in DX11 mode. Maxing the game out means 8xmsaa which cripples every gpu in existence.

lmao 2 is enough and even zero is fine since the game has no forced taa temporal shit

So we go from "there are no 4k gpus because you can't max out settings" to "w-w-w-wel it doesn't matter if you can't max out settings at 1080p because....IT DOESN'T COUNT OKAY!?"

Double standards ho!

Get your eyes checked lol

Delusional cope. I have a 4K TV right next to my 1440p monitor and they look nearly identical.

>>
>>748927318
do you know what msaa does?
>>
>>748927410
Typical engineer, blame the user instead of the device. Did you learn nothing from Apple?
>>
>>748927670
yes and the point stands
you just want to say no 4k gpu exists because games run bad when you turn ever slider to the right which is retarded as that has always killed performance

>TWO 580's can't run 1680x1050
>>
>>748927318
you sound like an autismo
>>
>>748927897
Obviously anon is as only autismos care about 4k.
>>
>>748924920
>he's still gaming at 30fps
>>
>>748925546
>just use higher res
thing has been going for decades. 1080p was supposed to be enough, then 1440p, then 4K, and now what... 6k?
>>
>>748926848
Kinda. Older games look fine in older res because theres less geometry to work with.
>>
>>748924920
you cant see more than 1440p pixels
>>
>>748929798
this except 1080 vertical
