what’s the /v/erdict?
>>
7/10
>>
cringe with a side of based
>>
>>748926137
Just a solid action game with Capcom charm. Can't complain. I'd probably give it like a 7 or 8/10.
>>
Decent. Not as good as Wolverine.
>>
>>748926137
It was pretty fun. Not groundbreaking at all. Worth playing though.
>>
>>748926137
Bosses and linear sections were pretty cool. Open world sections sucked and make the game a chore to replay. They’re not even very good the first time you do them. If there is another game it needs to be mostly linear, or have some exploration and freedom but absolutely no open world with filler, busywork slop. Open worlds do not fit this style of game. It’s why I’ve only finished Elden Ring once and Sekiro and Dark Souls more than ten times.
>>
7/10 that easily could've been a 9/10 if it was a linear action game with resident evil levels.
>>
>>748926413
>>748926436
I generally agree with these. I kind of enjoyed Pragmata more from Capcom this year exactly because it was just a solid linear action game. Maybe they felt like Onimusha had to do something different to feel independent from Pragmata though. Who can say?
>>
>>748926413
The side quests really were just filler. Pointless.

Musashi is based. Yoshitsune is based. The game has issues with padding and level design, but the combat is great and it has the best animation blending of any action game. Your lack of good offensive damaging options and the enemy tankiness make carnage mode pretty shitty.
>>
>>748926529
Not even good for boss battles. They could at least fit interesting enemy compositions into them but they are mostly about walking and talking.
>>
>>748926137
idk haven't played. I did just finish the first one and just started the second one. Got a feeling that fat bastard is going to be the highlight
>>
>>748926413
this. i dropped carnage difficulty because there was no way i was going to do all those gay side quests again to upgrade my shit. i want to fight bad ass bosses and other mooks not help some bitch find her lost tampon string.
>>
>>748926717
I tried to play the first one and was having a really good time until I accidentally discovered Issen on my own, read up about it, discovered it gives 3x the amount of souls and started autistically forcing myself to Issen absolutely everything, turning it into a horrible rhythm game.

Don't economically incentivize me to use the one hit counter move goddamnit because then if I do anything BESIDES it I feel like I'm losing souls
>>
>>748926605
black people love japkino
my first black friend I ever made was because he was the only one at school who knew who Mecha King Ghidora was
>>
>>748926137
6/10 but the boss fights make the game 7.5/10
>>
>>748926936
can confirm
>smartest black kid in my school and i were chums
>he let me borrow his copy of Onimusha 2
he also punched me in the mouth for calling him a nigger once

can't get more based than that
>>
>>748926903
>accidentally discovered Issen
yeah did that too, it was kinda cool but extremely frameperfect so I never bothered to master it. But ultimately the amount of souls you get in the game is pretty generous and you will easily max out all the orbs and 1 weapon without any grinding.

However doing the issen seems more lenient in the second game so far. So thats neat
>>
>>748926137
10/10 but the boss fights make the game 11.5/10
>>
why isn't the bulgarian faggot cracking this game cuz i aint paying a dime for a product thats come from a esg corporation
>>
>>748926621
Oh shit, this game has a transformation mechanic? I'll have to check the game out at a later time.
>>
>>748927481
Yes, onimusha mode, but it's not as fancy as living artifact or phoenix mode from wo long 2, just gives you an easier issen and a cool finisher.
>>
just finished it. Its fun. I liked the combat. Not game of the year material but it was a solid entry in a series that was on the shelf for a long time.
>>
>>748926137
musashi? Based
okuni? Based
>>
>>748927172
It's very annoying because it's based not off how close the attack is to hitting you for some enemies, but upon specific animation frames. Like the zombies with the rice hats, all you need to do to Issen them is attack when they are actively charging at you with their swords held above their heads - but if you wait until they start swinging, you won't Issen because it's not active during those frames. Same thing with the big horned demons that have the axes, the horizontal swipe Issen isn't just before it hits you, it's when they are roughly halfway through the swing and the axe is almost perpendicular to you.

The one thing it's really useful for is when those soul sucking floating heads are around because it triples all the souls they have absorbed if you Issen them (attack when they are spinning to teleport away), and if there are multiple in one area you get a ridiculous multiplying effect from doing that. x3 on first head, then x3 THAT on the second etc. and you end up getting like 10 full bars when you finally cash out, it's ridiculous.
>>
Parry + Direction is really nice.
Love the animations. It made me want to waste time and RP walk in circles like Ganryu in a bunch of encounters.
>>
>>748926137
Does oda nobunaga appear or is he mentioned at any point in the game?
>>
>>748929631
Nope the villian is Yoshitsune this time. I don't recall reading about Nobunaga in any entries either.
>>
>>748926621
Capcom was based just for designing Ifuu as a demon yanki.
>>
The best final boss of the year.
>>

Wo Long has an install?
>>
Based but has some annoying shit.
>50 billion upgrade items
Just let me use souls for fucksakes, why do I need 3 different types of cloth, leather+iron.
>Open world shit
Adds absolutely nothing but you're forced to do it if you want upgraded shit.
>Metric tons of items
I don't even know what half of them do. I never changed the default one but I looked at my inventory and there's like 15 of them.

Based, but I can’t imagine how long those bosses would take on carnage unless you’re an issen God. They feel spongy even when you have your shit up to date. But nice going.

It's not that bad, most bosses take 4-5mins instead of 2-3mins in action. I did carnage on new game, charmless, no items and it was the weirdest difficulty curve.
Ganryu1 and rashogan was pretty difficult because I had nothing to play with. Everything else was fine until the two bros, that fight felt like a marathon. Ganryu3 was tricky but wasn't crazy. And then Benkei2 is just absurd, that fight forced me to buy all the cloth/leather/iron in the shop.
Funny enough, yoshitsune was actually pretty easy since there's nothing new.
>>
>>748926137
Mid with shit combat. No taste, low iq shit heads will hype it up only because competition is bunch of woke failures
>>
>>748926137
7/10, should've unlocked hard mode from the start but pleasant overall and had the best final boss I've played in a videogame since Sekiro.
>>
People will pretend that difficulty doesn't add a lot to games or that "not every game needs to be hard" but the only boss that ever gets mentioned is the last one and it's for one reason.
>>
>>748939859
>but the only boss that ever gets mentioned is the last one and it's for one reason.
Could you at least pretend to read the threads of games you shitpost? Burai and Ifuu and Ganryu are constantly talked about, and plenty of people were getting their shit pushed in by Nue when the game launched.

Every single boss fight is great and the game is competently hard. What it offers is skill expression. Sure, shit players can beat the game just spamming parries and deflect but they're playing an entirely different game compared to someone learning to issen every attack. This is just DMC discourse all over again.
>>
>>748940060
Realizing that you could sumo push off his armor was fun.
>>
>>748926137
8.5/10 that could've been a 9 if it weren't for the open world Kyoto sections and the material gathering tied to upgrades. By far the worst parts of the whole experience.
>>
Better than Shitkiro
>>
Both this and Pragmata feel like really solid 8/10s and reminiscent of 360 era games in a good way. The combat in this is incredibly smooth, my only complaint being it kind of becomes unchallenging at a point
>>
When you got the dance lady in the gaunlet I was excited for a second thinking you'd be able to unlock different stances. Combat lacks variety a little bit

Only the second one and judging by the demo it's cool as fuck. In the first one you just summoned a guardian spirit for an attack.
In 2 you merge with your phoenix guardian spirit. This gives you a living weapon mode, you can still summon your active guardian spirit for an attack but also it augments 2 of your insight counter moves with guardian spirit magic too, successfully using them launches and wallsplats even bosses even on their normal moves.
And it charges rapidly, plus there's a buff that speeds it up even more, in the demo i could use it once after defeating every 3-5 enemies.

>still seething after all these years
Sekiro is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
>>
>another rift to destroy
>another byakue to battle
>another dohatsu to battle
>another sidequest to kill 5 flying enemies
the combat isn't very good, the enemy variety is piss poor, the repeated fights against some bosses especially the final so called """"dungeon""""
if there's a game that benefits from cutting at least 30% of its length its this one,
