Explain to someone who never played WoW why this is considered the peak
It was the peak of welfare gear and the patch they added heirlooms. Everyone knows TBC was the peak, pre Sunwell of course.
>>748926679most people started playing during wraththe peak was vanilla
>>748926794FPBP
>>748926679If you didn’t play it little man you will never understand. You missed out on the greatest kino and will never know our joy
>>748926679It added easy welfare gear, added dungeon finder, and permanently ruined raid progression by completely invalidating previous tiers in favor of only having people run the most recent one.
>>748928168It was always like that. Once you had bwl t2 there was no reason for mc t1 or dungeon t0. Only aq was sidegrades
>>748928168Adding badges from heroics wasn't a bad idea. It was when they added badges to raids that I think they went too far.
>>748926679It's considered the peak because it massively casualized a game that was already fairly casual. >Rebuilt the game around dailies>Added "easy mode" versions of raids so everyone could complete them>Homogenized raid buffs and raid compositions as a wholeThey gatekept grinding and removed any semblance of a filter the games content had, raiding was so bad during this time it legitimately killed many servers because it just wasn't fun for people who wanted a challenge.
>>7489281682 of those were added in BC, not Wrath.
>>748928898BC tested the waters with a few prototypes, Wrath made them core mechanics/ideals and designed the entire expansion around them.
>>748928898nah, I remember still farming gruuls and ssc deep into BT
>>748929074i have no idea why you would be in gruuls but ofc SSC farm it has BiS trinkets and off pieces. You always need more T5 while the officers are still needing T6 pieces.
>>748928623people were still running MC for thunderfury and some specific pieces like mageblade was still good or hunter quest bow and i think rag dropped a really good plate beltbut do people really like that kind of system? did people really like running MC even 2 tiers later?
>>748929269No everyone hated going back for TF and one legendary being good does not equate to vanilla being horizontal progression like retards constantly shill
It was a vibe. It was a collaborate FEEEEEL You have to experience it, you can't just logic it
>>748929254Had to google the name but gruuls had the dragonspine trophy
>>748928623?Onslaught Girdle and Crown of Destruction are some of the best warrior gear until naxx.
Anyone who didn’t actually play in 2004 should stfu. Even classic doesn’t actually capture how WoW was because it’s based on the last patch not the original game
>>748929426ah i see now
>>748929548Yes ie naxx invalidated the earlier tier just like modern does. Fuck off troon
>>748929620I didn't have cable internet until 6 months after TBC came out so that's when I started. Played it near release at a friends house though. We stayed up all night doing deadmines lol it was such a good game.
>>748926679we finally got to see post-warcraft 3 arthas doing shit besides being vaguely alluded to in quest text, while they simultaneously made the endgame more accessible to everyone, begetting a ton of optimistic excitement for the game and swelling player numbers to their peak. i think it is still the era with the highest player count, though i may be wrong
>>748929787Cool, your opinion of tbc is valid, don’t talk about vanilla tho
>>748929725Which is the argument thats being made? The gear in MC and BWL didnt invalidate each other and AQ40 was mostly sidegrade gear for offspecs. It wasnt until Naxx that Blizzard started playing with with powerscaling. They dialed it back in TBC, allowing all 3 of the major raids to have a good spread of gear and then when full retard with how each raid invalidated the previous one.
>muh banilla
>>748930051>then when full retard with how each raid invalidated the previous one.in WoLK*
>>748930006I generally dislike vanilla. CCs are too long, mages have no ice lance. It feels like something is missing. lvl 70 added a lot of the core finisher skills and pop to most classes.
MoP was peak.
>>748930051The vast majority of mc gear was replaced by bwl, only a handful of items were relevant past that. Those few items that stayed good were mostly a result of blizz not understanding how to do itemization. AW was just sidegrades and that was hated and criticized and was a failed experiment. Naxx went back to being power creep. The main reason retards believe wow used to not be power creep was because leveling itemization was so shit a lvl 32 item would legit be good until lvl60 because blizz didn’t bother creating a higher level item with crit % on it and crit didn’t originally lose power as you leveled in vanilla
>>748930393you would do MC for the legendary items and BWL for class trinkets.
>>748926794TBC is the worse then WOTLK>added flying>added arenas>because of arenas started to harshly balance around Arenas>killed wpvp>welfare epics>70 zillion rep grinds so you can enter heroic mode>removed faction ID by giving horde pallys and allys shaman>set in stone what was creaping into Vanilla {raid logging}>neutral city hubs >Started the trend that the previous expansion zone would be barely used at all if any>blood elfs signalling that bliz cared more about the chink market then the American one
>>748930456Sulfuras wasn’t even better than Ashkandi or untamed blade it was just for thunderfury and a fucking legendary isn’t part of a tier or make that tier relevant as a whole when a new raid releases
>>748930553all the noobies would get dragged to infinite MC runs until the tanks get their tfuries.
>>748930489>TBC is the worse then WOTLKSAAR
i never played much WoW but i'm pretty sure it went to shit at cataclysm, if not cataclysm it joever at mists of pandaria. By 2012, i don't remember WoW being that popular. The peak of WoW was like 04-06, 07-08 was stil pretty popular, but i think it started slowly dropping off and never regained the popularity it had until the the original Wow was released in 2019 and somewhat now with WoW forever. But it's still not as popular as it was back then.If you weren't alive or old enough to remember. There were news reports about video game addiction and people staying up for days raiding on WoW. The South Park WoW episode aired in late 2006 and they had celebrities doing WoW commercials. I remember the Mr. T NIGHT ELF MOHAWK one. That was in 2007. There were other celebrities too. These were commercials seen by normies. Celebs doing commercials for an MMORPG. An MMORPG. It was clearly the most popular MMORPG overall and i don't think any MMORPG will ever reach that height again. May be some sort of metaverse game with mmorpg elements in the future, but i doubt it.
>>748930634Just fuck off retard. The height of wow popularity was 09-10
>>748930489>flyingis good>arenasare amazing>arenas added new balanceI liked resilience over versatility.>killed wpvpyou didn't play the game daily zones were pure pvp kino>rep grindsare fucking kino why do you even play mmos?>gave pally/shaman to both sidesI love dranei and belfs tho>neutral hubsI love shattrath.>Previous zone would barely be usedIt was the only expansion where people meaningfully did lvl 60 raids and you still needed all the old attunes and you had to do the gimmicks. Hell I used the mage 200 haste trinket DEEP into BT.
>>748926679It had a lot of players, and the group finder was fun. I loved it and hated that at the same time, because parties you went into dungeons, before the Dungeon Finder was implemented, communicated and felt like other humans were playing with you instead of silent bots.
>casts bloodlust>uses drumshow do you respond without sounding mad?
Design wise if you played from vanilla-tbc wotlk you got to experience your class evolving from a janky piece of shit into a fully functional and unique playstyle. Even just leveling a new character from 1-80 felt great as all the pieces of your class just gradually started fitting into place in a really organic manner. Class design peaked in WotLK and that very importantly includes the leveling experience, it was all just shitty revamps and removing iconic abilities and miserable leveling from then on. I honestly blame WoW's decline mostly on how miserable it is to level a new character, it's just not fun and hasn't been since the cata revamp.
>>748930858idk. Wrath also added a bunch of extra shit with uhhhhhhhh what's the fucking INSCRIPTION. Every class got major buffs to their pve or pvp skills and the ones that were meta were so good they were defacto part of that classes kit. I still take issue with that.
>>748930858Class design peaked in mop but yes the new player experience post cata is possibly the worst in the entire industry and destiny 2 vaulting exists. Why blizz thinks it’s ok to have such a disjointed and unintuitive experience is beyond me. If you havnt played from the beginning you are fucked
>>748930829>activate my legendary ring power, cast time warp on myself againNothing personnel, kid
WOTLK was great, it fleshed out the mechanics of TBC that were rough at first, although the environments of TBC were much, much better, and some of my favorite in the game. Fuck death knights but it helped balance out all classes to be useful and entertaining. However my favorite moment in the original launch, having played vanilla-legion (skipped MoP), was in Cata doing Caverns of time shit and being able to explore old classic dungeons while overleveled and flying.I dont give a fuck. I started vanilla in middle school. I played for the atmosphere, i soaked it in, a different level of gaming. So many years later in college when I was actually good at the game, getting to fly back in time to see all the raids I couldnt ever get into was great. It was just relaxing to fly around old environments and explore, and see it from the air, see places I never quested as a kid. Miss that.No fucking idea what retail is like now I havent touched it since Legion. Dont know if any of the old areas are intact or if you have the option to visit them. But I am looking forward to forever even if its just for a few months.
because it is when numetal peaked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3cAID7JC_c
>>748931358>Sated in your path
I like all the Wrath dungeons and raids and questing areas. I like heirlooms too because leveling is such a chore when you've done it a million times, the only people who cry about the leveling experience being all that matters are shitter boomers who never get past level 30 when they play vanilla yet they say they love leveling
>>748932343Heirlooms aren't strong enough, actually.
>>748931789Hey underage retard you didn’t see the areas you missed because cata deleted them all
>>748932343also every class feels so fun to play and so powerful, in vanilla and tbc every class feels so weak and boring to play. I loved playing rogue and death knight >>748932452with the xp squish and heirlooms its fine you could power level really quick at least I could
>>748926794I remember playing TBC and everyone was bitching how Outlands was "too colourful" and "animeish". There was a lot of "Omg WoW is done they are clearly trying to pander to the Asian crowd now."I liked it but every single expansion brought out a ton of doomers.
>>748932610>t. Was never a Pom/pyro mage armed with toep and zhc
>>748932819all my niggas loved nagrand
>>748933421Imagine preferring the utterly empty and soulless shitholes of suntalon peaks or desolate to the soulful tbc zones we got. Some retards are just beyond salvation
>>748926679It isn't
>>748926679It's fucking garbage though and is everything wrong with modern mmos. It completely fried the reward to content ratio and collapsed the MMO model because the entitlement players in the genre had after this expansion is impossible to design a pve game around. Fuck Wotlk it killed MMOs. Welfare epics and raid difficulties. Those two things unironically destroyed the entire genre.
>>748933549being a mage in TBC with my hearth set to Netherstorm was the biggest flex to my guildies
>>748926679It's the death not the peak.
>>748933710Such a retard post. Vanilla wow did this by being babby mmo.
>>748926794yeah BC was goated and imo WotLK was the beginning of the end. You could start a DK at what, level 50 when it came out? Blood talent was fucking broken. I was soloing elites no problem with that build. They basically just handed you a leveled character with the most broken stats. BC felt like something new and different
>>748933710Hardmodes are good for the longevity of a game
>>748930489this is such poser shit I can't be bothered so I'll just pick one single line from this drivel>Started the trend that the previous expansion zone would be barely used at all if anywhat the fuck do you even want, molten core to be updated to 70? yeah we've only been playing this content for 2 years let's do it some more haha eat shit
>>748926679It was about Arthas from WC3. (which is just intellectual theft and desecration of the story of Arthur)
>>748926679Blizzard learned from their mistakes after their first expac (What if we just throw a bunch of characters from WC3 at them but make them evil!!!) and instead focused more on narrative and picking up on the cliffhanger WC3 left the Lich King at. Also the central hub was a slam dunk and universally loved, and a new class revitalized interest in the game.
>>748926679Because I was 15 at the time.
>LFG added to the game>First raid tier rehashed and casualised Naxx and all raids were beaten on their hardest difficulties 3 days after launch >Easiest dungeons in the game's history >Tournament dailies >Trial of the Crusader added as one of the worst raids ever>Welfare gear from Vault of Archavon >A ton of welfare badge / tournament welfare items making all prior raids obsolete >Added phasing to the game >Death Knights absolutely breaking season 1>Added Strand of the Ancients which was so badly designed it was later removed from the game. Isle of Conquest and Wintergrasp also have major balancing issues to this day>Lich King loses all his appeal, no longer threatening in any way and constantly saying "I'll get you meddling heroes next time!" before departing in numerous instances of failure >Gearscore being used for absolutely everything >ICC was the only major raid for an entire year until Cataclysm came out. It was also a gated raid >Started the homogenization path of classes >Added resilience which was a colossal failure of a stat used for pvp making it unfair to players without it. Eventually removed in absolute embarrassment >Every Man for Himself free trinket for humans completely imbalanced pvp further >Fucked around with raid difficulty multiple times. Also made 25 man more rewarding despite being barely more difficult mechanically>Azjol-Nerub zone dropped. Only got two short dungeons in the old Kingdom and Anub'arak was an afterthought in Trial of the Crusader >Oh but some of the zones were good and Ulduar / ICC were fun so automatic 10/10
>>748933793>babby MMO>it just has a non-retarded control scheme
>>748934140You had to have a leveled toon to roll a lvl 58 dk young cuckold
>>748934451lol lmao you’d lose your shit at leveling down when you died and your gear being able to be stolen off your corpse you fucking retard
>>748934483thats still basically a free halfway leveled char tho
>>748926679It's where most people started.
>>748934625No I wouldn't. I played and enjoyed deadman mode on OSRS which featured both of those things.
>>748934887Nah, vanilla was 8 million tbc was 10 million and wotlk hit 12 million, most started in vanilla.
>>748926679Northrend was a great continent. The writing for the leveling content was pretty slick, running into the Lich King several times and generally feeling like a coherent experience, like being a part of the Horde or Alliance WC3 campaign to take the fight to Arthas. (after a 'pre-expansion' undead plague flareup that was the first time they'd done that and landed nicely)Honestly the Arthas encounter was pretty mid but Ulduar remains the best raid Blizz has ever put together.
>>748934976That assumes all 8 million players from vanilla kept playing in wrath and not that the game was just gaining more players than it was losing
>>748935151Brown people literally cant understand this dont bother trying
>>748935151It’s a pretty good assumption given how games work and mmo addiction functions. Got any evidence to the contrary?
>>748935229>akchually everyone who played vanilla quit and an entirely new group that was even larger decided to start playing expansion 2Just say it out loud and realize your niggery
>>748935274Got any evidence in the affirmative other than it being a "pretty good assumption?"
>>748935371When did I say everyone quit? All I said was that your assumption in just giving the raw sub numbers was that the majority of the 8 million people from vanilla kept playing through wrath. It only takes 2 million people quitting in vanilla for it not to be when the majority of people started playing
>>748926679It smoothed out the questing experience, made questing worth it in terms of xp and gear and despite telling many smaller stories all of Northrend had a greater running story line/theme so the area changes didn't feel jarring at allDungeons were also connected to the overall story but not so strongly that skipping them meant you got lost on the plotThe difficulty also hit a perfect balance between accessibility and autism; if you were a casual you could gear up long term in normals or h10 and then later go onto clearout h25; if you were an autismo you could (pre-lk) skip h10Dungeons were also relatively easy once you stacked up gear and figured them outYou could "grow into" the harder content without any huge leaps
>>748934276>what the fuck do you even want, molten core to be updated to 70?They should have never raised the level cap, WoW forever fixes that mistake, there is a reason at Blizzcon the two most important things they said they will never ever change is the level cap and adding flying
>>748935518It would also take another 4 million quitting from tbc. That’s just not how game growth works half the the player base doesn’t vanish and a larger group of entirely new people show up for a fucking expac
it's not
>>748935440Yes, the sub numbers from vanilla that are 66% of wotlk. Those are hard numbers and you have nothing. GG no re lad
>>748926679WC3 nostalgia
>>748935617That is exactly how it worked you retarded nigger, tens of millions of people played WoW from vanilla through wrath, there was massive turnover
>>748935606>WoW forevernigga let it go
>>748935606>bro they aren't raising the level cap, it doesn't matter that we're on patch 12.3 and the item level for end game is 1249there are exactly two mmos that never abandoned horizontal progression and even they had power creep due to introducing horizontal, but more fitting, alternatives to existing gear
>>748935772>nigga let it go
>>748926679>Explain to someone who never played WoW why this is considered the peakSubscribers peaked here because it was dogshit, then the game declined forever more.
>>748926679it was a mixed bag, the leveling experience and new zones were really good if not fantastic, reusing Naxx and TotC were lazy mistakes, Ulduar was one of the best raids Blizzard ever made and I hate Blizzard for not making it's hard mode activations the standard instead of a simple toggle, Ice Crown Citadel was also really good. the Class balance was probably about as good as it ever got. PVP was ruined in Burning Crusade with arenas and resilience and if anything that go even worse. It was also the last expansion before Blizzard starting casualizing skill trees.
>>748931190Inscription is kind of a mixed bag depending on which class you played. The best glyphs for certain classes were locked the fuck down, but other classes could actually give you good options to consider. Like cat Druids are never going to not use the same 3 glyphs meanwhile Elemental Shamans have like 8 fucking major glyphs that are all really good to pick from depending on your playstyle. They also should have made way more minor glyphs than they did, like more cosmetic shit.I just think the profession had some under utilized potential, and it was stupid of blizzard to just go "actually glyphs are a bad mechanic" come cata and turn the entire profession useless. I don't even fucking know what it does in retail anymore, first aid felt more useful than it.
>>748935965>new zones were really goodwere they now?
>>748935717Actual nigger logic. People that unsubbed frequently resubbed
>>748926679Ulduar was peak, naxx sucked and toc was abysmal. ICC was alright at best. imo BC was still the better expansion, there was ALWAYS something to do and look forward to
>>748926679>completely halts the skyrocketing growth trend WoW enjoyed since the startwotlk sucked, everyone hated it.
>>748936308U a contrarian cuck? The data shows and everyone knows it was cata. But stay in denial negro

>>748936785It’s a zoom. AI sloppa and google are like the word of god to it
>>748936121No, they didnt, or the high would have been like 50 millionMost players just left and never came back
>>748937248They did and not that many new people join sequels/expacs and there is shitloads of data in the games industry supporting that. Sorry child your unwarranted assertion was simply wrong
>>748936785retard
>>748937402>They didsee>>748936308they did not come back
All I know is I could cast Lightning Bolt while moving and it meant Ele Sham was good at something
>>748937470>line clearly goes up from vanilla to the end of wotlkRetard is you imbecile
>>748926679It is just the finishing of the WC3 storyline. It is worse than vanilla in all aspects. But, it gets a huge nostalgia boost for people who played WC3.The dungeons and raids are just worse than vanilla. The dungeons are really all flash with no substance and the only good raid is Ulduar and only because it has a lot of different things to do and has a fun mini game as the first boss fight.
>>748926679It was the peak of phasing, entire areas meant to be fucking flown over, LFG teleports, AoEing entire rooms and playing mario party.
>>748937697>wc3 is worse than vanilla>rants about wotlkThe zoomer mind is diseased.
>>748936308I think people left because they felt it was a natural endpoint for them. They grew up with the Warcraft 3 storyline and killing Arthas was a great way to get out of the game.
>>748937543>what is rate of changekek retard
>>748926679TBC and Wrath are the source of everything people hate about modern WoWPeople are blinded by nostalgia.
>>748937815wtf are you talking about? If you see who I'm replying to you can easily tell that I'm not talking about WC3 at all. I'm just saying that WOTLK is the finale of the WC3 storyline. The gameplay of WOTLK is worse than Vanilla WoW and then I go on to list the singular example of the only good raid in WOTLK.Are you a fent zoid? Are you mentally availed atm?

>>748936308Subs were already declining in WotLK. The gaps in sub reports in 2009 and 2010 are because>late 2009 report was the rush of resubs in China after it was offline for 3 months servers when servers switched from The9 to Netease>late 2010 12 mil report was when WotLK launched in ChinaThose two reports were when the game was already in decline in the west and simply timed when subs were boosted by Chinese surges to make it look like it wasn't falling off. Wrath was actually the beginning of the end.
>>748938324>If you were a child when Warcraft rts came out you were mentally incapable of being a real fan and were ever just an underage poser. Fuck off newfag
>>748926679kino aesthetic + super casual yet still bearing a small semblance of depth, which made it appealing to a very wide playerbase. basically it was like how skyrim is to the elder scrolls series. not that the individual installment itself was anything special, it just happened to hit a good groove while it was at peak popularity.
>>748926679it was the peak of high budget and passionate pre-woke development staff. The best raids that still worried about being epic and cool rather than using a proper/sustainable amount of resources. Death Knights were OP but extremely fun and they could all tank so dungeon and raid role bottlenecks got much wider. It was the last really good story arc completion from pre-WoW RTS games. Arthas shows up when you're leveling a lot, but never to confront you directly. It was neat. There was also just a ton of content. More than in previous iterations of the game by far. Always SOMETHING you could be doing. For a no-lifer, you couldn't ask for more.
>>748939098wrath's got the first instance of homosexuality in world of warcraftit's a minor thing but not really gave a shit about it back then
>>748937826Pretty much. Getting to kill Arthas was the end of WoW's story before got into full retard fanfiction instead of building on and answering questions left unanswered at the end of WC3>but Herpflerp was mildly hinted at in this easter egg, it wasn't made up whole clothNo one cares.
>>748926679Everyone forgot about this but tanking my giganigga Halion was the most fun shit ever
>>748926679I only levelled through this a couple times and the zones and levelling were pretty nice, the aesthetics of Icecrown were sick and it did a good job building up a final villain even if it is cartoon badguy tier. >>748926679Vanilla was WoW's peak, but Wrath was one of the better expacs.
>>748926794This nigga knows
>>748926679it was peak only because of the storyline, but in terms of gameplay, it wasn't good. Also, for some reason it managed to become mainstream for a while.
>>748926679Early original wrath was a once in a lifetime experience. It was like a more refined TBC and had the most fun class design ever>affliction having 5 dots + haunt>destro having to time conflag perfectly before the glyph was added>unholy DKs having unholy blight as an actual aoe ability + scourge strike casino glyph + coming back to life as a ghoul on death>blood DKs being viable as a DPS specClassic wrath players will never know what it was like
>>748926679>best the artstyle has ever been (Cata was the start of a huge ongoing downgrade>best main antagonist of any xpac>dungeons, especially heroics, were easy but fun (I was a dumb kid so I didn't raid)>welfare gear out the ass was great for casuals>DKs were extremely fun, especially due to their mix n' match talent treesMost of the bad aspects like a lower difficulty everywhere and LFG killing socialization were only just starting to creep in.
>>748930489Blood Elves stopped WoW from becoming a dead game. Also Belfs are hot so based Chinese, imo.
>>748942685>best main antagonist of any xpacidiotic takeas expected of the cowjeet
>>748926794>It was the peak of welfare gearThis. It's the normie expansion. It's when the people who struggled to achieve basic MMO goals could finally participate. Everyone here who has played an MMO at all knows the group I'm talking about, the kind that stand around and bitch that they don't want to actually play the game, but their complaints aren't actually the valid complaints and they all fucking suck. That is who liked Wrath.
>>748926679>queue for wintergrasp>pop into defense siege before it starts>plop down toy trainset for ambiance>game starts>grab RPGs>bind "allahu akbar" to rpg button>pretend to be jihadist for rest of matchyou just had to be there
>>748942912>Blood Elves stopped WoW from becoming a dead gamelol looks like the opposite is true
Because it was in that sweetspot era in internet history where it was easy to groom girls in video games and convince them to let you mail them sex toys and have them send you their panties and shit by just giving them gold you got for dancing in Stormwind on your skimpy ERP Draenei and not get cancelled for it.
>>748926679>why this is considered the peakStory was still warcraft, it went to shit with the dragon and then pandas later.Talent trees and class design still had continuity with previous expansions. Sure, class design was fucked by vanilla standards but class depth was there.Much easier game compared to TBC and vanilla, LFD was a bad move though, because it destroyed server communities and turned the game into a singleplayer experience.Welfare epics as others mentioned, this destroyed the game in the long term but you could only see how it affected it later.Death Knight was an actual class which had a lot of thought put into it, compared to fisherprice demon hunters that came later.Northrend was really beautifully executed as a zone, pity about the bug kingdom which was scrapped, eh? Maybe put them in W3 as another faction. It was an expac which was made back when the team still had energy, by Cata and MoP they were tired of working on the game, that's how it looked like. Maybe they had just ran out of ideas after they ran out of W3 big bads.
>>748926679It wasn't, sub numbers plateaued in wrath because it was garbage.
Should I play TBC anniversary or is it dead? I checked classic and SoD and both modes have way too many servers and theyre all at low pop.
How bad will it be?
>>748947690TBC has up to 200k players according to logs. I assume Classic will be more popular than Forever in the long run.
I never played WoW and WotLK ruined Warcraft for me, because the story presentation was gay and hammed up. They ruined Arthas AND Ner'Zhul.
>>748948043Who cares?
>>748926679It concluded the story started in WC3 and struck a good balance between the original game (retaining and expanding upon original talent trees and class designs instead of completely overhauling them) and much needed QoL changes and class updates. That being said, WotLK still had a ton of flaws, lackluster PvE content and cut content being two big ones.
>>748926679It's mainly that it had a great story and that basically everything you did contributed towards progressing that story.
wotlk was peak until they introduced hardmode. hardmode ruined the game for casual raiders like me. hardmode was too hard for me and normal was too easy and the rewards too shitty. it broke apart my guild because the sweats now had to get rid of the more casual players and the casual players saw no incentive in doing normal raids and organizing an entire guild around doing inferior raid versions.i fully blame ion for this.
>>748926679I don't think our guild ever beat lich king before the nerf. We were also the #1 pve guild on the server.
>>748947690>>748948609
>>748926679because you were back on Azeroth but this time you weren't fighting random shit like dinosaurs and gorillas anymore
>>748951137WotLK literally has a zone dedicated to the reoccurring theme of a Nesingwary safari questline
>>748926679>LFG>gearscore>like 5 lockouts per weekAmazing story content but it was the beginning of the end for the MMO aspect.
>>748926679Because it's the version of wow that released just when Warcraft 3 nostalgia was starting to kick off. 6 years is plenty of time for kids to go into highschool or even taking their first steps into college depending where you live and lamenting about how they wish shit was more like their childhood.
