Why does AVGN hate this game? It's a masterpiece and one of the best games of the 80s.

The game kinda becomes nothing midway through. Hallways don’t pose any threat at all, Kraid and Ridley are barely fights even when actually fighting them how the devs wanted you to. At least the Metroids make you pay attention and take it slow since multiple ‘troids can stack on top of you. Mother Brain lags the game to an absurd degree but it’s better than the other two bosses since the strategies you come up with actually make you feel safer with the idea of “unlocking” your victory present. Not a bad game at all buuuuut it’s not an. NES masterpiece. Every single Mega Man game blows Metroid out of the water even 5 which is the worst one.
