What HAPPENED to walking simulators? They used to be so popular back in the mid 10s and some were critically acclaimed, but then they just disappeared from the face of the earth. Same with indies in general which were quite popular back then?

The only thing I know about this game is that you stumble upon some girls skinny dipping at a point. That is a big plus for a game if you ask me. Wish more games did that.

They were popular during a time when journalists and other fraud "critic" outlets were giving those games glowing accolades and publishers were hoping that would directly translate to sales. But it clearly didn't, and now the only games that publishers give a shit about are GAAS and things that can be heavily monetized. You're going to see increasingly fewer walking sims coming from anything but single-A developer indie studios, because nobody wants to take a chance on some shit that can be speedrun in the refund window.
