Why do modern game devs hate visual clarity so much? I've been playing old games or conservative remasters like System Shock 2 and it's refreshing how visually clear everything is. I mean it'd be nice if screens wouldn't be just squares or pipes actually rounded but still, there isn't unnecessary objects lying around everywhere, cables hanging out, and walls full of random micro details. The objects that are there feel meaningful.
Why is every envionment in modern video games fulll of random garbage looking like the room of a compulsive hoarder?

care to list more examples outside your cherrypicks? because I've played plenty of older games that were MUCH worse than your image

Consider seeing an optometrist. You're just getting old.
