Just started in my first playthrough with 10 hours and wow, I gotta say the level up progression is way more satisfying than Skyrim. Skyrim is an action adventure game, this is an RPG.

Anything other than pen&paper isn't a true rpg. The fact that I have to press buttons with dexterity to just move my character makes all these action games with slight rpg elements.

>>748954557No Bethesda game is a good RPG. Morrowind is good because of the worldbuilding, and to that point, it probably has the best worldbuilding in all of video games. If you don't soak up as much info reading in-game texts and dialogues, then you're robbing yourself of the true experience. Keep in mind there is no omniscient narrator - all the books were written by in-universe authors with their own agendas and opinions. Take the world in, figure out why things are a certain way and what forces are at play, read between the lines, actively probe into certain topics... eventually you'll realize just how much thought and care went into the whole thing, and you'll be rewarded for your curiosity. Skyrim and Oblivion didn't even attempt to have coherent worldbuilding, so if those two games were your first introduction to Elder Scrolls, then initially you might not even think that this is what Morrowind is about. However, Morrowind is unlike any other Bethesda game. Skyrim and Oblivion are "turn your brain off" games that only fall apart and gets increasingly worse the more you invest actual thought into them. With Morrowind it's the opposite, since it only gets better.

Level up system FEELS great but after about level 10 or so you become Superman or a god amongst men and the scale falls apart. The best part about Morrowind is the adventure music atmosphere and the depth of the world visually and if you enjoy reading. Only contrarian fags hate on it it’s bordering on being a masterpiece and approaches being art. I’ll give daggerfall fags a pass.
