Why couldn't they add this option to Mario 64?instead you get pooped out of the level after every single star you get
>>748955286Because Mario 64 changes the level objectives and reloads objects differently between stars you retard.
To encourage you to do one thing at a time, go check the new levels you've unlocked, then come back later instead of just fully completing level to level linearly. It was also so they could change the level a bit for each star
>>748955286SM64plus has it. Also updates levels as you play.
because the levels reconstitute themselves slightly for different stars. They also want you to explore the castle. They don't want you to assume you have to play all of Bob Omb Battlefield before moving on. It's possible it's something they decided on due to playtesting.
Just play a better game instead.
>>748955286bro are you actually playing the game like that?
You can actually just add that to SM64 now if you want. We're in a whole new era of retro Modding; anything is possible with the tools available to us now, even if you don't know anything about coding.Seriously, try it out. It's fucking crazy.
>>748956416>M64 is more fun to move around in, and has more fun objectivesThis is like the one thing Banjo has on Mario(baring presentation), if you can even call it an objective improvement and not just a design difference.
>why why why why why why why
>>748956353The fact that you can even re-enter paintings to find more objectives isn't even explicitly spelled out. It's possible the intended experience is for the player to beat King Bob Omb, return to the castle, check the doors marked "1", play some different levels, and then eventually return to old paintings and find more stuff to do.
>>748956416This is more of an action-adventure game where you happen to be able to jump a lot.
>>748956527Someone already made it years ago.
