I finally got around to playing Star Fox 64 and it was great. What other Star Fox games are actually worth playing?
>>
Starfox 64
>>
Literally only this game. the switch 2 remake is cool if you're into >graphics but it's just the exact same game again
>>
>>748957370
What about the SNES original or Assault?
>>
>>748957412
>SNES Original
Literally what 64 was based on. There are some differences, but it's almost the same game.
>Assault
Give it a shot. It's a little different but not in a good way, but try it out for yourself and see how you like it. That game and Adventures are the only ones that didn't try to rehash 64.

I'll give it a shot. Shame that there's basically only one good game in the series
>>
>>748957246
That one is by far the peak but I also enjoy assault and the snes games. There was one on ds where it's kind of a strategy game where you go into dogfights with normal sf combat which was neat
>>

I forgot about Command. That one kinda reminded me of Starfox 2. I guess those are the two other games OP could try out as well.
>>
Sadly like 50% of the franchise is them just redoing 64 with varying degrees of success. 1 and 2 might be still worth it if you can get past it feeling a bit dated, assault is rough in the same way that some sonic games are and most people really prefer the multiplayer if they touch it. Command has a fanbase and I'd say pairing that with the first two is your best bet
>>

That’s it.
The original SNES one is good too, but 64 is superior in every way.

You’re done.

Original SNES one.
Others apart from 3DS and Switch 2 remakes are complete shit.
>>
How good is the higher fps patch for the SNES games?
>>

Honestly retreading the story of 64 is fine, since it's a classic little space war, but they really should massively expand on the routes/planets/characters etc and add some sort of Arwing/Team customization system.

Nigga dey all StarFox 64

Just play the recomp

Why does it run so much slower than the original?
>>

Star Fox SNES is great but the 20fps and graphics filter a lot of people.
Star Fox 2 SNES is also good but focuses on RTS and all range mode stages.
Star Fox Adventures is ok. It's a Zelda clone where Fox runs around on a Dinosaur Planet solving puzzles and dungeons and shit. Not really that good imo
Star Fox Assault is alright. Return to form on rails arwing stages but also throws in some on foot missions where you shoot at aliens and shit. Not the best but it's a decent enough game with a great OST btw
Star Fox Command is bad. It's Star Fox 2 but worse in every way, with an obnoxious control scheme and the worst soap opera story Nintendo has ever put out.
Star Fox Zero is BAD. Avoid it at all costs. It's 64 but shit on the Wii-U.
And StarFox on switch is just a 64 remake again.

I would say try out the SNES games and Assault. Maybe Adventures if you don't mind a Zelda clone.

>SNES
>almost the same game as 64
I hate when people say this cause it really isnt. 64 is a reimagining of SNES but SNES has vastly different levels and design to it
>>
>>748957412
assault is fine. Doesn't deserve the bad reputation it once had.
Also, Adventures is fine.
>>
>>748957246
Lylat Wars
>>
>>748957412
SNES is great, also has a fantastic OST, 64 is loosely based on it but there are enough differences to justify playing it as well. I wish some SNES stages actually got remade like the highway mission on Venom where you're basically sneaking in though a road and get attacked by security ships or the underground caverns of Macbeth
>>
>>748957246
none. just play melee.
>>
>>748957412
assault is fine until your second on-foot mission at which point you realize they were confused as fuck about what to do with the franchise following Adventures.
>>
>>748958095
I think Command is worth playing but if you don't have a DS idk how you'd get the control scheme working properly on emulator
>>
>>748960838
i'm still mad the switch 2 game didn't have more content. really wanted some extra missions ported over from the SNES game or an epilogue mission mirroring Assault's first stage.. i dunno. something. not looking forward to OoT being the same and lacking even the master quest

Unfortunately you played the best one. Adventures is an okayish zelda clone, and assault is like a 6/10 at best. We don't talk about command or zero.
