I cracked the code. The "ONISM Cipher" is not a matter of literal cryptography. It's not about matching numbers against letters or anything. It's about what ONISM really is. It is a website where the truth is recorded from the perspectives of different users' realities. For example, in one thread, our Alex talks about a stuffed penguin he had as a kid, and a different Alex owns Panda. Except, the panda's colors aren't correct. Neither of these Alex's perspectives lines up with what we see with our black-and-white Panda. There's also a ton of different Michaels on ONISM, with slightly different variations of VERAformer as well as ChronoCrossed. ONISM is a tree, and each user is a different branch. If ONISM contains the core essential details of each reality, like a woman going missing under mysterious circumstances, then you can look at the "core" of each thread as the connecting factor across each reality. This is also reflected in Dick Masterson, the hint system for the third ending. You can find Dick, Dax, and Chad in the different versions of YIIK. They're the same guy, they serve the same purpose, but superficial details about them like name and location are changed.
Now look at the cave in Mountain Town. Everyone says the same thing, that the ghost of a teenage girl is in the cave. Some ONISM users find Semi Park, but one poster claims his dead sister nobody cares about is the spirit. As you'd soon find out, it actually is that guy's dead sister. In an event completely unrelated to meeting the spirit, you're forced into a battle against an alternate version of Alex, just like how you're forced into a fight against another Alex when you encounter Rory's soul survivor. You weren't really going into the cave to find Sammy or help out some guy you saw on a forum, you're there to chase the Essentia because that's the end result of Alex's hunt for Sammy. He never cared about her.You can begin the third ending path when chapter 4 begins, because the new posts in chapter 4 before you're locked in to the Essentia's mind dungeon are indicative of what you need to do. Something in those posts is an undisputed truth, that's your yellow pill. Find what doesn't change, and the rest of the dominos will fall. Don't go looking for the Essentia like the game tells you to. Break from her narrative, and see the truth as it has been recorded on ONISM. What does Alex really want, and how can you give it to him?
>>748964376>>748964412That's cool and all, but the issue is 30,000 children still died in Yemen
So, is that the game Toby referred to as the same idea?
I don't care for YIIK: The Postmodern RPG.
>>748965539Yeah pretty much>at the beginning of the game a character who is locked out of the narrative prompts you to answer a series of questions>your answers are saved, and you’re thrust into the role of someone entirely unrelated>the character you’re controlling is subtly hostile to (You) and intentionally conceals details to further their own agenda>there is a missing sister cut out of the game motivating various characters>in the end without the correct outside interference from the player the game’s narrative will simply loop endlessly
