It's reddit
>OP is a faggotWho would have thought?
>>748966938the alien quirky chungus writing was so bad but the rest of the game is goodanything else similar?
It's kino
Is Obra Dinn worth it if I was pretty meh on this game? I just didn’t like the feeling of not making any progress on some cycles
>>748967592Obra Dinn is good but it isn't really similar to Outer Wilds
>>748966938I don't give a shit.best game of the decade.
>>748966938It's great, but it's nowhere near as great as I was led to believe.
for almost all of my favorite games i could see someone not liking them. there's no accounting for taste after all and one person's minor nitpicks can be another's dealbreaker. people can not vibe with entire genres and dismiss my most beloved games out of hand and that's completely fineouter wilds is basically unique in that if someone says they don't like the game i can know they are basically not human
>>748967741thank you for proving it's reddit
>>748966938This but unironically. Void stranger is 4chan
>>748968086But 4chan doesn't play games. VS is what happens when a puzzle game is made by guys who expect you to follow a breadcrumb trail without pointing at it constantly and painting every breadcrumb yellow, which is what you get with OW.
>>748967592>if I was pretty meh on this gameit sounds like your IQ is high enough for Obra Dinn, yes
>>748968710>which is what you get from OWHave you played the game or are you larping? The game very infamously does not point you in any direction at any point, the only hints for where to go next is the end game sequence with the warp core.
>>748968062What's your favorite game?
it was ok but I got sick of being on a 20 minute timer before you automatically die and respawn. I wish there was some unlockable mode that just let you freeze time and explore the world at your leisure.
>>748969579There's a 20 minute timer because the orbital physics break down after that point.
>>748969297It actively points you in the next direction constantly. You don't HAVE to go there next, but it's not at all open.
>>748967592I enjoyed it. Though I do regret cheesing the fact that it reveals when you guessed X number of people right.
>>748967592I didn't care much for Obra Dinn. I was hoping for more of a reveal, the only one of those detective type games I liked was Type Help.
>>748969297You must be new here: faggots like OP try to generate discussion of their favourite games by being contrarian dipshits to bait people into contradicting them. The actual schizos who hate certain games/franchises don't start threads about them, they descend upon ones already made
>>748967592you'd like obra dinn if you enjoyed the roottrees are dead. obra dinn is better, but i didn't enjoy either. the visuals are obscure and obtuse, but is outweighed by the aesthetics conveyed. audio is a novel approach for deductions, but is still a mundane task. what i mean is that for both games, i felt like i was merely doing chores that "even a baby could do", only that a bit more vocabulary is involved so adults could understand it. i prefer games with more critical thinking, needing more steps to reach a conclusion
>>748970065contrarianism isn't real. pretending people are being "contrarian" is pretty much solipsism, where only your thoughts and opinions are genuine and anything else exists only to antagonize (you).
>>748969678where are you pointed to go after "go get the launch codes from the observatory?"
>>748966938TRVTH NVKE
>>748967592i liked obra dinn a lot better than outer wilds. i was also meh on outer wilds, it felt like it was trying to do too many things and a lot of it got in the way of the part i was interested in (the mystery). obra dinn is like if you stripped out just the mystery part of outer wilds, none of the temu KSP or epic redditor wow this is so deep the universe is so big shit. and the mystery is presented in a more interesting way than reading endless text off of unity wall assets.
>>748971574The big cannon in the sky that keeps exploding.
>>748969563nice argument
>>748966938wtf I love reddit now
>>748967269Closest I can think of is Subnautica. No Man's Sky is pretty good for casual space simulation and exploration but lacks depth.
>>748972007Oh thanks anon, I thought I was just asking a question. I had no idea I was a master debater.
>>748969563it's showdown timevoid stranger > type help > obra dinn > roottrees are dead >>>>>>>>> outer shills
>>748971919Other than it happening to be the first thing you see each loop, how so? None of the other characters even acknowledge it.
>>748972731i've never played roottrees and i knew the "twist" from just looking at the steam page.
>>748966938in this moment, i am euphoric. not because of some phony god's blessing. but because i am enlightened by nomai intelligence.
