I bought Diablo2 Resurrected yesterday. It's been years since I played D2, since before D4 dropped when I replayed everything, and I was looking forward to the grind from level 1, tristram runs and all that. I finally get D2R to connect to battle.net and guess what? My roster is FULL of old high level characters from D2 with all their gear and skills and I can't play any of them. By can't play I mean I don't remember how to Diablo, like it makes no sense. I've played modern games so much I don't remember- it's not just wth was my level 79 bowazon supposed to do but a level 1 ladder toon and I don't know how to play. It's like getting on a bike and having no idea how to ride. I don't know whether to be horrified or refund. D2 was my favorite game of all time and now it feels like dementia.

Man I don't get the appeal of Diablo. The game is fun until you've played it for 10 hours and you realize it's still the exact same gameplay loop, and you barely experience character growth after a while. To make matters worse just like any Blizzard game the story is incomprehensible because you need to understand references to 500 other games released in 1980.
