Yeah but our wages should also be more

Cool it with the antisemitism
>>
Yes, absolutely. The aftermath will be hilarious.
>>
It should be however now that they're all using AI the prices should drop significantly to no more than 5 dollars for a AAAA title

Straight up I've bought a lot less games this year than usual because i can't afford this shit. I'm sure GTA will do just fine but i don't know how much they can jack the prices and expect to not take a massive hit on sales
>>748968109
This
>>
I grew up and no longer play video games so I don't care.
>>
No, they should be shorter and cheaper
>>
A single game should be $840 US dollars. Minimum.
People should be forced to play the thing they bought and master absolutely only the game they can afford.

all devs are about to be replaced with ai and you're still thinking games can survive as commercial products lmao

Why? I thought AI is making making games easier and cheaper than ever?

>>
>>748968004
games should be more expensive because wages should be higher, but because wages aren't higher and entertainment is extremely price elastic the price cannot reasonably increase
>>
>>748968004
I want it to be illegal to sell a game for less than $300

This! so much this!
gamer rage will envelope the world and we shall have 40$ games with 5090 graphics and government mandated loli girlfriends

It's afraid. And it should be.
>>
>>748968004
I hope they do get more expensive browns and parasite neets need to be priced out of vidya
>>
Games should be cheaper and developers should be forced to use lower budgets more wisely, that means no hiring expensive celebrities for voice acting and motion capture, no pointless consultancy fees, no hiring hr teams and community managers, etc. Put every dollar into the actual game.
>>
>>748968870
If you reduce the costs but also reduce the resources invested the quality doesn’t get any better it probably gets worse don’t go into business young retard

>>748969173
Your strategy is literally why we have ai sloppa kill yourself. Who cares if someone else spends money
>>
>>748968004
>that would help a lot
Not as much as a reasonable budget and realistic sales expectations.
If you want to spend a half billion dollars on a video game, do it, but if it doesn't look like all that money is on screen when why the fuck should I care?
A golden turd is still a turd, right?
>>
>>748968963
games suck more than ever while costing more than ever
some of the best games ever made were made by 10 guys in a shitty office near starvation or bankruptcy
but keep making concord and nuke the industry i can't fucking wait
>>
I mean they can but I think they will see a fall in sales as some people will see it as unaffordable and other people will have spent more on other games so may not have the spare cash to take a chance on yours. You'll see a higher demand for high rated games and anything less than a 9 will suffer. The issue is that while it has absolutely become more expensive to develop, wages haven't tracked so for the layman, the hobby is slowly pricing them out.
>>
>>748968109
OY VEY THINK OF THE SHAREHOLDER PROFITS
>>
>>748969030
It just means there are more cheaper games, it doesn't mean a game of a set quality is getting cheaper. You are a fucking retard.
>>
>>748969302
Good poorfags and browns need to be expelled from my hobby
>>
>>748968004
No. In fact they should be cheaper since now the studios have access to AI tools that make development cheaper and faster.
>>
No
Palworld is 30 bucks
>>

Well, you're definitely getting fired, but brownier browns will take your place like you always wanted.

>if the biggest, most well known IP globally can sell at 100$, then we can raise prices too
>>
>>748968004
Maybe. But the industry should be cutting fat before increasing prices. Open world and live service slop needs to die. Pivot to projects smaller scopes and fewer overhead costs.
>>
>>748969380
It means the market will no longer support more expensive games. This is median cost for the top revenue making games.

Devs see this and know they have to pull prices down, but are resistant.
>>
>>748968109
Game developer wages should decrease.
>>
>>748968109
This so much this. We need more inflation.
>>
>>748968004
I read this guy's whole statement and it was like the most jewish thing I've ever read in my life. That snippet in OP doesn't do it justice. This faggot sincerely believes the 3-billion dollar game costing more means a 10-million dollar game is also justified to cost $100. And he goes on and on about it. It's like the font name itself was TinyHat.
>>
>>748968004
>we will use ai slop to make our games as cheap as possible

>>748968004
Nope, games are too expensive. They probably would make more on a 40 buck price tag.
That's what most ps5 games drop to within 2 months on amazon. That's why they don't want discs because they know games aren't worth more.
>>
>>748968004
>Warhorse
Aren't these guys total shitters?
>>
>>748968358
Now do spending power.
>>
>>748968004
They can increase it all they want, but a large majority of consumers are habitually inclined to wait for a major sale now and what's left still won't be able to cause their $300,000,000 flop with 10 years of development to break even.
Why pay full price when in 6-10 months it'll have plummeted down to $20-$30 for the game and why would they expect that to change if they increase it to $100 base price?
>>
>>748968004
no, games should be less overdone
>but we need a 2000 people to make this game
>but the realistic graphics demands
>but the hollywood actors in the game
drop them
>>
You can raise the cost of games if the amount of value goes up with it.

If I were sold Cyberpunk 2077 as it launched for $90 then you need to stick it straight up your ass.
>>
>>748969862
Sales are huge, and the AAA of yesteryear (~10+ years old) are often dirt cheap if you need a fix. I don't pay full retail for anything outside of new indie releases from trusted teams (Silksong, Mewgenics, etc.).
>>
$90 games will still have the same amount of microtransactions and season passes as $70 games.

So what's the value proposition?
>>
>>748968109
Mods, ban this poster for flagrant antisemitism.
>>
>>748968004
it's fine, I only ever buy games on sale anyway.
>>
>>748970069
You will wait longer for the price to drop to purchase it and that might give them enough time to have the game fixed when you play.
>>
>>748968004
I think 300 dollarieugens is a sweet spot
>>
>>748969695
You're retarded and will never be anything more than poor no matter how much you suck corporate dick. Life will not get better for you.
>>
>>748970038
Yeah, nobody I know does. Even people with switches wait until the inevitable 10% - 20% off sale to get games a little cheaper. It's absolutely ludicrous that they think increasing base price will get them more profit.
>>
>>748970387
>things should be more expensive and people should get more money
Very intelligent opinion.
>>
niggas be arguing over $70 games and I never pay more than $20
>>
>>748970561
Not what was said. Thank you for confirming that you're an inferior. No woman will ever touch you. There is nothing for you.
>>
>>748968327
This but it's only new games.
I play Minecraft religiously.
>>
>>748968004
If games came out 100% complete as physical discs you bought in big box stores, you could make an argument in favor of raising the price. But that's not how modern games work. Publishers are making a much larger cut per game sale because of digital storefronts, and they're selling DLC/microtransactions day 1, they're pumping out cheap remasters, etc. The business model has never been more lucrative. The only reason to raise the base price of games is greed. They are seeing what they can get away with.
>>
>>748968004
Why say this shit and make everyone hate your company lol
>>
>>748969695
There's already inflation retard, it's just that all the benefits of pumping money into the system are going to the ultra-wealthy and corporations, while workers get fucked with higher prices but stagnant wages.
>>
>>748970813
Workers should get fucked. Low iq underachievers deserve nothing

No, they have decades of good games to compete with
I just bought what I consider to be a CIB copy of Dragon Warrior 1 for $13. Calculating inflation this would be the equivalent of like $4.50 35 years ago, for a physical game that doesn't need updates or patches and can be resold easily

How will Gabe feed his family??
>>
>>748972019
You mean the guy whose company is known for well above industry average wages?
>>
When I was growing up one new game cost like 1/3 of a monthly salary. Now it costs like 1/25 and games in europe are still more expensive that in America despite Americans having larger salaries. A 70 usd game costs 79 usd in Europe.
Despite this it's the Americans that are screeching how they can't afford games while being the richest and the most pampered nation in the world.
>nooo, I really can't afford to pay 70 usd for a game, but I have no problem watching a shitty marvel movie in cinema for 30 usd, ordering food every day or drive a shitty truck that consumes 20 liters of gas per 100km even though I don't really need a truck for anything.
And then they show you they have hundreds of games in their steam accounts and finished maybe like 1/10 of them.
If you can afford a game for 70 usd that you don't even bother to finish you can afford an 80 usd games as well.
>>
>>748969695
There already is huge cost inflation but the wages haven't risen along with it. Inflation is only a problem when costs outspeed wages.
>>
These retards really want to all die dont they?
