I recently started trying to play it, but I just can't get over the gen 3+ feature of catching a pokemon you're interested in using but it's worthless because it happens to have the wrong ability and a detrimental nature, which you can't see before you actually catch it.I'd also say I don't see much point in it if I'm not actually interacting with other people as I play.

>>748983820I really don't care for IVs and even EVs at this point. Played some hacks without them and it was absolutely refreshing and the opponents felt equal. I also generally like abilities but I think they should have focused a lot more balancing them around both the battles and the overworld. Static making you encounter electric pokemon, Intimidate lowering the encounter rate, Flame body hatching eggs etc is way more soulful than overpowered battle abilities.
