Arena style shooters will only come back if they embrace less serious and team based modes instead of just going all in on hardcore compslop - the audience for which is a dwindling number of extremely autistic players who haven't stopped playing Quake 3 since 1999 and will never try anything else.You need grapple shenanigans, weird and retarded powerups, and maps that are fun instead scientifically engineered for how compfags play.
