Nah, people hate CS because it was buggy as fuck downgrade from SoC in most possible ways, for many years, and a pain in the ass to mod.

People just went back to SoC until CoP came out.

I didn't like CS because it introcuded the upgrade system, which also hurts CoP and because I didn't like the faction system it's centered around.
It's not terrible, but it's the worst stalker game, which isn't a bad place to be.
