how the fuck is this millenial. I played it as a kid and im a zoomer
>>
>>748973615
that game fucking sucks though
>>
>>748973615
ProJared was literally correct about every aspect of the game and I have never agreed with a review more
>>
>>748977375
Yeah
>>
>>748973741
Not really, dumb fuck, in fact, I best most studios are like 80% Gen X and 20% millenials.
The guy at the top, calling the shots is also probably a Xoomer too, same with movies, you're quick to throw shit at millenials but this is still a Xoomer world with a side of actual boomers, like it or not.
>>
>>748977462
If you mean you played it as a 5 year old in the gamecube in 2005 it doesn't mean shit, this game was developed from 99 to ยด01 with people that were 8-13 years old at the time in mind.
>>
>>748973741
You guys keep saying this, but every example you give is always a gen Xer director/writer.

Some idiot called Conker's Bad Fur Day a zoomer game the other day.

Games made for millennials are better than games made by millenials and I can explain why.

Millennials were conned. We were programmed from a young age to believe that if you didn't get a college degree you were worthless. I myself had a teacher who would constantly threaten the class that they would be stuck in a lifetime of hell flipping burgers if they didn't take his class seriously and get a degree. We were all obsessed with getting a degree. The first thing a millennial will ask you about yourself is what your degree is in, if you don't have one you don't have status. It's all important to us.

What ended up happening? We all ended up going into debt to get degrees regardless of what the degree was in. After leaving college with hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, we hit the pavement only to find that there were absolutely 0 jobs hiring for our degrees. A millennial doesn't want an a entry level laborer or customer service position, they have a degree they're too good for that shit dammit. It's not entirely their fault, they got out of college right after the housing crisis of '08 where the economy was stagnating, there weren't jobs being created for anyone let alone millenials fresh out of school and ready to enter the work force. Useless degrees/0 economic growth.

So now we have the majority of millennials burdened with student debt, jobless and refusing to do jobs that they deem are beneath them. What ends up happening? The government steps in. They create thousands upon thousands of make work jobs in government and the government funded entertainment industry. Whereas a game made for millennials would have been a game made by passionate developers who were overeducated with computer science or programming degrees, games made by millenials are government funded welfare programs under a different name to make work for people who feel scammed by society and don't want to be there. That's why all modern movies/video games suck.
>>
>>748980652
So what you're saying is that game developers these days hate their jobs which is why they make bad games?
>>
>>748980652
>That's why all modern movies/video games suck.

Everything sucks because they're hiring the wrong people on purpose. Every generation has talented people. Talented Millennials are not hired.
>>
>>748980591
That's as fucking stupid as that one guy who said Kung Fu Panda was for millennials. Are these even real people or trolls? And if they're real how the fuck are they allowed to use the Internet without supervision?
>>
>>748981267
Yoomer here, it's still a good movie, 2nd one is even better, 3 and 4 can eat a dick, even if they have their moments.
>>
>>748981032
Yes, they're people who were conned by society, are there to pay back their student loans and were sold the dream of being an important big shot but are now pumping out consumer trash for people they hate and think they are better than. Literally the messaging at the time millennials were going to school was that ANYONE can be an astronaut and you ARE GOING TO BE an astronaut. So you've got a generation of astronauts with no space programs, an astronaut doesn't want to be a code monkey.
>>748981172
>Talented Millennials are not hired.
Yes but the reason they aren't hired is because they are gatekept by the degree holders. If you've ever worked doing the same job with millennials who have a degree while not having a degree they'll hate your guts because you didn't fall for the same scam they did. It's gotten so bad that you can't even get hired as a cook at a restaurant without doing a college program these days if the job has been infested with the pointless degree holders. Even menial labor that can be performed with minimal on the job training is gatekept by millennials and their degree cult.
>hiring the wrong people on purpose
Their politics are a different story but they were mostly programmed by Marxists that infiltrated the higher learning institutions during "the long march through the institutions". So anything they create will have the proclivities of that ideology. It's why everything they create is "woke", that's their version of morality they learned while in college.

>weird perception of the passage of time and generations
>30 something zoomers
the oldest zoomers are just about to enter their 30's now, zoomer is 1997 to 2012. They're 20 somethings. Millennials are the 30 somethings currently with the oldest being 45. Millennials were born from 1981-1996.
>>
>>748983592
I've seen some definitions say it begins in 1996, though the consensus seems to be 1997. There's definitely a cusp period there. I've seen different definitions of millennials start in 1980 too and other definitions call it Gen X for some reason.
>>
>>748984529
my personal definition is somewhere along the lines of:
are you old enough to remember 9/11? if so you're a millenial. that was a huge culture shock and a cultural paradigm shift that would have deeply affected your psyche during your formitive years.
if you were too young to notice the changes to the culture, you were shaped by the post 9/11 world which makes you a zoomer. millenials are people who experienced what the world used to be like. probably the major distinction between the mentality of alphies and zoomers will end up being whether or not you were scarred by lockdowns in your formative years. alphies will only know the post-lockdown world and not know any different zoomers will have experienced what it used to be like.
what a wonderful woooooooorld
>>
>>748985152
9/11 and Covid are the World Wars I and II of the 21st century so far.
>>
>>748984529
I agree with other anon. If you can remember the world pre 9/11, you're a millennial. People now don't understand how much that changed basically all american made products and media after it. Like two different worlds.
>>
>>748985402
Yeah America went insane after 9/11. Remember when Congress unironically tried to make "freedom fries" a thing because France didn't support the Iraq War?
>>
>>748985272
Yeah, if you remember what the world was like before World War 2, well you're dead but you would have been a silent generation. It divides your psyche between experiencing the pre/post war cultures which are so different they might can be defined as entirely different "worlds". If you were raised in the world of the post WW2 economic boom you're a boomer. Honestly I have no idea how Gen Xers fit into the mix though, not sure what defines their generation's worldview.
>>
>>748985656
>if you remember what the world was like before World War 2, well you're dead but you would have been a silent generation
There are people alive today who vividly remember the 1930s and still have their cognitive capabilities intact. Dick van Dyke is still dancing and he's almost 101.
>>
>>748985656
Most of them cite watching the challenger explode on TV.
>>
>>748985817
That was hardly a world-changing thing though like Covid was.
>>
>>748985892
True, but idk what other big events you could point to at the time. Cuban missle crisis? USSR falling? None of them really affected the average person in the states that significantly.
>>
>>748985787
well he should probably shut the fuk up being silent generation and all. oh wait he's technically greatest generation.
I guess the divide between silent and greatest is whether or not you were a kid or adolescent during the great depression, respectively.
>>748985817
yay all generational divides are defined by experiencing major traumatic experiences that result in cultural shifts woohooo. except for boomers they got off lucky, their generation is defined by growing up in a golden age.
>>
>>748986049
it might just be that they are "the boomers kids". they're not technically boomers, didn't have the same defining cultural experiences but they were raised by them and don't really fit anywhere else

The barriers between age generations is arbitrary and retarded
you can simply enjoy or hate games, regardless of their age
>>
>>748986395
I'd argue it's not arbitrary it's about your worldview based on the major cultural shifts or changes in worlds that you experienced due to global historic events. Zoomers and Millenials see the world in a different way because they were raised in different worlds. A millennial looks at the post 9/11 paranoia culture of always strip searching everyone for anything as ridiculous and intrusive where a zoomer is happy that it's penis inspection day.
>>
>>748973741
nope, still gen x
>>
>>748987385
The ceo's are gen x and boomers but the workforce is typically millenial.

The most famous indie developer is a millennial, but the people in AAA game studios are all boomers or Gen X.

Never got why No Way Jose Joe never like the Sonic Free riders theme

I blast that on my car to this day
>>
>>748986049
Oh yeah it's the cold war, gen x was raised by nuclear terror.
>>
>>748973741
No because boomers stopped retiring and gen x stopped hiring young people, so everyone just stayed where they're at. Whatever scraps were left for millenials got thrown to cheap jeets.
>>
>>748987790
Zoomers also love Sonic. The Sonic subreddit is full of teens.
