Do you refund games you don't like?
>>
I tried but steam refuses to budge on my refunds. It makes me think all the refund requests "that get accepted" are either edited (like this one) or simply AI generated.
I've asked for TWO refunds on my ancient account, both of which were barely outside the window and they simply flipped me off.
>>
>>748973668
I refuse to believe this isn't edited. I got a "Never waste my time again." when I tried to refund Celeste after the dev made her trans years after release.

Only small niche ones if they don't work properly

Big ones (like yours) have enough content on youtube to decide if they are worth a buy or not
>>
>>748973798
>both of which were ... outside the window
The fuck are you expecting retard? What do you think the point of the refund window is?
>>
>>748974274
Every single time one of these WOW REFUND images get spread around, it's outside of the refund window.
>>
>>748974349
The only time you can even maybe hope to get an old game refunded is if an update made it not work on your PC anymore or some shit like that. Not because they patched in a homofaggot flag.
>>
I pirate my games before I buy them. So I never refund games I don't like, because I shrimply never buy those.
>>
I've only refunded games that don't work.

I have a game I probably SHOULD refund but instead I'm willing to work with the developer to get it working because I do want to play it.
>>
>>748974168
proof?
>>
>>748974274
The 2 hour refund window is disgustingly low to thoroughly know if you like the game or not, filthy steam kike.
>>
Gays of War
>>
>>748974168
That's the trouble with reporting culture war brainrot, customer service doesn't always take it seriously, especially if its written in a trollish manner like OP did. Even though it doesn't get the point across, the best way to do it if you really want your money back is to come up with an unrelated reason or just use a professional tone in the report.
>>
I refunded a few, but mostly over technical issues. For example, the version of Gothic 2 that Steam sells just does not work, while GOG sells a working version.

Otherwise, I don't think I ever spend less than two hours in a game even if I end up not liking it too much.
>>
>>748973668
Steam refunds, I return.

i straight up removed (deleted) fallout 3 and new vegas because of how shit they were
i think skyrim is the only "playable" game bethesda softworks has ever made
>>
>>748973668
If it's in the window, I do refund it with the "It wasn't fun" option. Hope the devs see that
>>
>>748974606
Cry more. Stop paying them if you're just going to fill your diaper and throw a fit, the rules of how refunds work are clearly outlined to anybody that isn't an ESL.
>>
>>748974606
If this is true for you then you're probably playing slop.
>>
>>748974730
I have the opposite problem where I'll rip into a game and then worry that the devs will see the review and cry because I'm a onions freak. Honestly is there anything worse than devs who actually read Steam reviews personally and also the Steam forums? You'd have to be out of your fucking mind. Like get someone to do it for you at least
>>
>>748974746
>>748974848
Steam jeet nigger cattle non arguments. Devs have been front loading their games specifically built around this.
Go play in traffic.
>>
>>748973668
I got a refund for watch dogs 1 with 10 hours of playtime because i said i bought it for the multiplayer and apparently the online servers are long gone
>>
>>748973668
This is fake. When I refunded too much games they denied me and wrote "the refund option is not about trying the games for free, but to get back your money in unfortunate events you didn't see before buying"
>>
I don't think the playtime matters for gears of war because it's technically not out yet. early preorder access to games are a gray zone and i don't think the automated refund services know how to deal with it since the game is still technically a preorder.

i remember in the past you could refund early access games no matter what your playtime was when they officially left early access but I think steam fixed that.
>>
>>748974606
>The 2 hour refund window is disgustingly low to thoroughly know if you like the game or not
Imagine forcing yourself to play a game (which is meant to be fun) and not having fun for over 2 hours to see if you'll eventually have fun
>>
>>748975493
to be fair a lot of modern jrpgs have intros that can reach up to like 10+ hours before the systems are fully unlocked for you.
>>
>>748975391
Yeah because you probably bought like 10 fucking games in the span of 3 days and refunded them all then ignored the warning they give you when you do that and did it again like a total retard.

You sound like one of those dumb incel chuds who just shitposts all day on 4chan.
>>
I dont spend more then a couple dollars on steam slop, and if I jave some weird urge to buy a AAA game it must be good enough not to consider returning it. I generally dont buy games im not going to like amd do my research if I dont know.
>>
I wouldn't buy a game I don't like.
>>
>>748973668
I refunded vintage story even though I liked it because one of the main devs put malware into it.
>>
>>748973668
It's my right and it incurs no cost on me, so of course I do.
>BUT THINK OF THE DEEEEEEVS
Fuck you, make a better game then.
>>
>>748974274
The two hour window doesn't matter if your reasoning is good enough I've gotten multiple refunds despite having more than 5 hours in those games. But I've never tried that with a game that's been on the account for two weeks or longer. I've only ever seen one anon who successfully got a refund despite owning a game for years after the devs did some shit to fundamentally change the whole game.
>>
>>748977809
Plenty of people got refunds on skull girls after the misandrists censored it. 10 years after stealing it, even.
>>
Does co-op difficulty progress not save if you arent the host? I did Act 1 and the prologue on Insane, and it says my highest is Hardcore (solo)
>>

I don't buy shit games, so I never have to refund games.

i first pirate game or play demo. buying on advance is retarded in this era of woke slop
>>
>>748973668
I generally research games pretty intensively if I buy them, unless they're 1-2 dollar affairs I buy on steep discount. At which point, it's not worth the effort to refund them.
I usually only ever refund games that just don't work.

Dawn of War 3 was the first, and last game I bought on hype alone, was disappointed by, and refunded.

>using steam

I got a refund from Nintendo for Neverwinter Nights on Switch 2 months and 8 hours of play time later because the multiplayer just doesn't work on Switch.

Every time steam refunds get brought up one of these retards come out of the wood work and cry they can't keep abusing the system, it's borderline brown behavior. If you really wanna try a game without paying for it just pirate it then decide to buy it if you think it's worth the time.

I remember when I had a PS4 I preordered a DLC. On release I did not get access to it. I contacted the devs and they said they didn't receive my purchase even though it was absolutely charged on my credit card.
I had to argue with 3 different reps at Sony for 2 hours to get a refund and the last pos I spoke to was like
>For this one time only we'll grant you the refund
Nigger, I literally did not receive the product I gave you money for
>>
>>748978207
I'm pretty sure if a game receives enough backlash they offer some leniency. I remember they were giving a lot of players some leeway when it came to Cyberpunk during its launch because ultimately it was absolutely fucking broken on launch. I think they did the same with that one shitty Russian zombie extraction shooter that came out a while back as well since the devs blatantly scammed people.
>>
>>748980072
I don't piss around with that shit, I just do a chargeback
>>
>>748980072
When customer srvice is doing gay shit like that threaten a chargeback and they'll change their tune quick
>>
>>748979961
I legitimately don't think jeets can figure out how to torrent games given how many of them rely on Mega.nz downloads
>>
I always forget how raped Americans are when it comes to refunds. The two hour window is made up bullshit by steam and the only thing that matters is the 14 day window here in the EU. Needing a reason for the refund is also fake and gay.

Get some fucking consumer rights.
>>
>>748980442
I get refunds for alot of things though?
>>
>>748974606
If a game is atrociously bad for whatever reason steam does allow it, exception though not the rule.
I wonder if they'd accept a "this game wastes 2 hours of your time to prevent refunds" refund.
>>
>>748980442

That's never going to happen until the orange business man is out of office

Most singleplayer games can be completed within 14 days. Does this mean Euros can almost never actually pay for games?
>>

I'm kinda sad, not sure what to play this month now.
>>
>>748980781
Basically
Ive refunded every game I've beaten so far
>>
>>748980129
This
The window is the baseline, but they'll absolutely be more generous with it if a game has extenuating factors, like a game obviously being broken or a scam, updates breaking functionality, the game itself being the kind of thing you can't digest in 2 hours, ect.

Like, the most likely stinger to get someone using refunds in good faith is buying a game, not playing it for like a year, and then finding out it's shit/doesn't work after that. Even then, of the three games I've personally experienced this on, I got a refund for one of them anyways (it was a dollar fifty)
>>
>>748973668
yeah its pretty relaxed system so you are kinda stupid for not trying if a game doesn't work or you just don't like it during the first hour or so of playing
>>
>>748980862
think of some older game you always wanted to play but never got around
there is a good chance there is a pc version of it now
this year alone i played twillight princess, metroid zero mission, banjo and silent hill 1 all on pc

100% deserved. I don't even think all games have to be really long, but if I both finish it under two hours and know that I won't ever wanna play any part of it again; There's obviously no reason to keep it.
