I've been playing close to a dozen of MMOs for the past twenty years but if I had to say one thing about the OSRS and RS3 community/playerbase it's that they are the genuinely dumbest people I have ever come across in all of the MMOs I've playedLike with the various iterations of WoW you can usually tell when you're just talking with some brute or nerd, but on RS you some times wonder if the players are genuinely unable to parse information. Maybe it's due to the admittedly rather autistic and repetitive nature of the game, but some times it truly does feel like you're in some kind of asylum for people with arrested development

The Gower brothers just threw a bunch of random shit into the game based on what they thought would be cool, then a bunch of other developers just threw in a bunch of other random shit over the years, then it ended up creating this complex dependency network of quests, skills and items that made progression feel rewarding. Then after they added a bunch of bad shit to the game to the point of no repair, they miraculously had a back-up of the game that happened to be from a point in time just before a lot of the rot started to set in. And when OSRS first started off, it only had a very small team supporting it and a lot of the earlier new content had plenty of problems too.
