The auto battle prediction overestimates you if battle difficulty is set to less than hard. There are lots of youtube videos about how to handle battles.

>>748985262Is your battle difficulty set to Easy? That's what determines the autoresolve balance, on Easy it's borderline cheating. If autoresolve on Easy says it's a close defeat then it may be genuinely impossible for even a skilled player to beat without cheese.Past that, it's all about stuff like knowing unit matchups, hammer and anvil, keeping your ranged units safe, sniping their lord, using the right magic at the right time, etc. You'll pick it up over time.
