it's actually because Ryozo is convinced that each MH game is strictly better than the last, so there's no reason to even want to play the older games,
being the CEO's son, he's high up in the bureaucracy chain of Capcom, so even if the suits wanted to make money with a Classic Collection, it's not happening until he's gone

If there's one positive to the great sloppeneing, it means that we got a P3rd recomp that will eventually turn into a decomp and be a great base for an open source MH game.

Playing through FU for the first time rn, finished low rank village and now going through the guild quests. Gravios key quest is up next, god help me. Will probably make a water element lance or something to make it a little less miserable.

Portable sequel to Tri that brought back all the weapons and reworked them from FU, less of a neutered 3U, no swimming so all the maps are reworked, different village and progression/weapon mechanics. It's only an HR game so it's decently easy and not very long, but it's a good game, lots of new staple mons introduced and some legacy ones that didn't get brought into 3U as well

Even as someone who only started the series with World, I still think Astera is the worst hub in the franchise. Just an absolutely terribly designed layout that is straight up unfun to and obnoxious to navigate. You have to either go through a fast travel loading screen or walk up the infinite staircase from Mario64 to get from one point to another. There's no way the earlier games hubs could have been worse, it's just not scientifically possible. And it's a pity because I really like the concept of it, A giant treefort made out of cannibalized boats, but the art design means nothing if it's miserable to actually use.
