It's good

It’s pretty good, but that stealth part with the weight pissed me off. Shit kills you, then spawn camps. The part with the valves and gates was probably a step too far considering the aggression of that thing. I finally got lucky and stumbled on a way out
>>
It's kino. The CEG building with Richard felt like Condemned to me for some reason. Legitimately a great entry in the series.

How is Observation, this studios other game?

>How is Observation
I never finished it but the puzzles in Townfall were highly reminiscent of it
>>
>>749005821
having a blast?

>25hrs to get all achievements
That sounds like a terrible value for the price, I'll wait till it's under $30
>>
>>749008147
Your first playthrough takes like 15 to 16 hrs after that you get the new game plus weapon, and know what to do and where to go. it takes like 3 hrs to beat the game after that.

No asians or dogshit nigger poop on v.
>>
i am playing it right and i don't' think it's that great. I am in the red world and I can't see shit. it's been like 5 hours and i've seen 2 total enemy models. the environments look nice so far. I am sick of stealthing around these same 2 enemies over and over.
>>
>>749005821
Is it spooky? Compare and contrast it to SH2make
>>
>>749005821
I think it leans a bit too hard towards the SH2 influence but yeah it's a genuinely competent survival horror game. Great map to explore, great survival horror gameplay, great puzzles, great visual design(the attention to detail in the town is nice), great sound design, great scares. Story is a bit generic and forgettable without any real bite to it but the gameplay is top notch.
>>
Sorry shill, it was over when you chose a nog
>>
Whats good about hiding in a closet or room for 5 minutes when enemy is doing scripted patrol and you watching his gay ass on your mini tv
>>
Pedophiles will shill for anything
>>
Story was a bit too much of a 2 retread for me and the final area was honestly just really fucking shit, but it was okay. I enjoyed it more than f at least.
>>
Are there any mods which change the main character and any other like him?

It's black
>>
>>749005821
It's my 4th favourite SH after 2>4>1
>>
>>749011710
It's basically a first person SH2 Remake in terms of spookiness
>>749012368
The story is nothing like SH2. And I loved the final area personally
>>
>>749005821
I'm having a blast!

>Protagonist (and co.) are wracked with guilt over their actions and summoned to a manifestation of Silent Hill that builds on their subconcious guilt to torture them for all of eternity until they can break the cycle, the specifics of which depend on the ending

It's literally just SH2, but with 3 people this time.
>>
>>749011710
Basically 1:1

>>749012831
I kinda get what he's saying. Tonally it feels very similar to SH2.
>>
>>749007839
Observation was neat. Cool concept. I'm gonna replay it soon
>>
>>749005821
It's great. I think it might be my favorite Silent Hill after 2 (original). Of course, the stealth gameplay's enjoyment is entirely subjective and will put people off, just as F's soulslike combat put me off. But the story and ambiance and sound design are excellent, and the character performances really stand out, especially O'Quinn as Richard.
>>
>>749012880
That's the only similarity, and it's like 1% of the story.
>>
The puzzles are the highlight to me. I liked how they're hard but without the need for specific niche knowledge like how f required of you.
>>
I enjoy and buy game too.
>>
>>749012993
I think people hate stealth gameplay in principle more than they care about how it functions in practice. Like>>749012050 this post doesn't even know how the stealth works and yet has already used that to inform his entire opinion of the game.
>>
>>749013010
It sounds like you haven't even played the game. That's literally the entire story. The only real twist is the villain is also in the same SH world.

>>
i cant imagine actually enjoying stealth horror games, only reason i didn't buy it was because of the batman vision walkhack sit and wait mechanic
>>
>>749013779
You literally don't have to sit and wait, it's the same as many other survival horrors, you may be rewarded for being careful but you can also run or brain enemies with a pipe if you choose. You being a fucking pussy is not the games fault
>>
The Richard section was hilarious. The insta kill monster is kind of a faggot mostly because he's scripted to harass you in lockers no matter where you are relative to him. Really cool setting. 8/10
>>
Stealth is generally pretty annoying but works ok when you have very clear goals, which runs in opposition of typical Silent Hill design where most of the game is wandering around figuring out what to do or where to go. So you sneak past an enemy, read a note telling you to go somewhere else, sneak past the same enemy again to leave, get item, sneak past the same enemy again to use the item, then sneak past the same enemy to leave. And that's the stealth gameplay at its best. At its worst, you're stuck with an invincible one-hit kill pursuer that knows exactly where you are and constantly goes back and forth between standing outside the room you're in and checking in the room you're in, while several other enemies are patrolling, probably getting stuck on shit and each other and the pursuer. Even when you figure out exactly what to do it's still miserable, and I legitimately don't know how anyone could enjoy it or how it made it through playtesting. The repeat section at the end barely gets a pass if you just happen to know that the flare gun stuns him.

I also personally dislike tying the ending requirement to kills. It's the laziest way to implement it, while further enforcing stealth in a game that already has very limited resources. You just rob yourself of the strategic element the gameplay could have, because it shifts your play from using resources to deal with problems efficiently to avoiding killing entirely unless you absolutely have to. The story is fine, but also not really interesting enough to justify being stuck in a nightmare hell world. There's no cult or real reason for the supernatural, and the "villain" doesn't even really feel guilt in the sense of wanting to punish himself. This would be like James knowing full well he killed Mary and just spending the game desperately trying to get away with it. Zoe's guilt and circumstances could make for an entire game itself, so it ends up being weird that she's ultimately such a minor part.
>>
>>749014636
The pursuer is the game telling you you can't stealth every single situation and sometimes need to make a break for it. It's just incredibly stressful. I really liked those sections and found it pretty thrilling to run from that dude

I just wish he looked cooler. He's just a big slime man
>>
>>749014636
you can kill total 59 enemies beyond 60 you get the bad ending and that's plenty
>>
If you want a FPS Silent Hill game just play Cry of Fear.
>>
>>749005821
you trying to convince us that or yourself
>>
Let me guess, you're having a blast? It's fun?
