So with Elden Ring, Fromsoft basically let GRRM write the mythology and backstory for a whole new world, and it worked out pretty well. Got me thinking /v/, what other authors would be a good fit for that kind of collab?>Brandon SandersonDude already writes hard magic systems that feel like they have actual rules and mechanics. Imagine a Soulslike set on Roshar or Scadrial. Stormlight Archive especially, the whole Knights Radiant thing is basically a class system already. Different orders, different powers, oaths as a progression mechanic. A boss fight against a Thunderclast would go hard.Stephen King? Joe Abercrombie? Gene Wolfe?Who else?
>>749008863>stormlight archiveonly if you take it away from brandon and give it to people who only read the first book and destroy the rest and also kill off Shallan
>>749008863I don't even know what writers of old are still around and I keep hearing all new literature sucks
>used to love scifi fantasy>go to book store now>wall to wall books with just giant text or women standing in middle of cover slightly turned around
I would pay egregious amounts of money if there was a good video game adaptation of the Amber Chronicles multiverse
what if they made a game about Roadside Picnic?
>>749011673GRRM isn't a good writer at all the only reason he's famous and peaked was because of the HBO adaptation of his books. If HBO were to adapt the Earthsea series instead, then Ursula K. Le Guin would've blown up in fame. Ken Follett did the over the top descriptions of sexual violence, cruelty, stylized male gaze erotica earlier before GRRM did on ASOIAF/GOT with Pillars of the Earth.
>>749008863>There was a noteuropean kingdom where a bunch of people related to each other fought for no good reasonWow what an amazing collab I'm glad they hired this obese man to write such an interesting and unique setting
>>749013641Pillars of the Earth mini series show was great too. It was like GOT before GOT. Redmayne was also in Black Death movie alongside Sean Bean and the Red Woman from GOT, also before GOT. This was the start of Redmayne's film career, then he landed main / lead roles over roles from Les Miserables to winning the Academy Awards for Hawking, to coressdressing as a tranny lmao to the shitty Murican Harry Potter series. Before all these he was a promising young talent, winning awards as a theater kid before transitioning to the movies.
Dave Barry for a GTA style game.
>>749012979I'm not sure if you're memeing but Goldsphere is the closest to the book in terms of Stalker, and it's worth looking into if you haven't already
