I just don't get shiny hunting. forcing the same encounter over and over and over again turns a rare and special occasion into an inevitability.I preferred when it was the lower odds and you could go an entire playthrough without seeing a single shiny and IF you found one, you'd catch it no matter what species which lead to the player having a special connection to an otherwise overlooked mon.I member fishing up a shiny shellder in Pokémon gold and since then shellder and cloyster are my favs.

I've played every entry up to... Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl? And I've caught every available Pokémon in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire and I have never, never, never, never ever come across a shiny Pokémon even ONCE in thirty years.
