Gameplay is otherwise fire imo although a lot of people also think it’s not scary (not that RE was ever scary to begin with except for the old ones due to the camera and tank controls). Try playing Revelations 1 on 3DS.

I like some parts of 6 - Leon's cathedral fight and Chinese market run, Chris's "totally not Yawn" throwback, Jake's Chinese mansion run and honestly most of Ada's campaign that wasn't a Leon crossover. That said, there are far more bad parts than good, but even so I can respect the ambition in its combat systems and storytelling. 5 felt like playing a microwaved greatest hits run of 4, reworked to be playable with a friend. Completely tedious and uninspired nonsense aside from Wesker, who admittedly chews the scenery.
I really dislike 6 as whole, the pacing in it is pure garbage, but I still have to admit that its core gameplay is good enough that it doesn’t come even close to being the worst game I’ve played. It’s more like a vidya equivalent of a bloated 3 hour long action movie that makes you think that it could have been a really tight package if it was cut down a bit, but nooooo, the director had to keep too many repetitive action scenes in.
