>>749028784I haven't been following it closely, but based on what I've seen, it seems like it will be to podracer as Squadrons was to X-wing/Tie-fighter. It also seems like the actual podracer races will be either a separate game mode or something since none of what I've seen shows the player OC piloting one. The gameplay looks like it will be Burnout meets Dirt to Daytona with a SW skin. You'll go from speeder bikes, to speeders, to 'we have podracers at home', and finally to an open format where all three are allowed. I'm sure it will be a competent racing game, but I'm skeptical about whether it can live up to the legacy of Podracer.
