>take my steam deck on a trip>no internet >pull it out to play a fucking SNES game>can't play it because no InternetWHY THE FUCK DOES A SNES GAME NEED TO FUCKING DOWNLOAD ANYTHING WHY DOES IT NEED A FUCKING INTERNET CONNECTION FUCK YOU GABEN YOU FAT FUCKING ALBINO NIGGER LITERAL FUCKING E WASTE PIECE OF SHIT TECHNOLOGY THE GAME IS FUCKING INSTALLED ALREADY
>>749027207damn my comfy 60 dollars chinese handheld is superb btw
>>749027207How did you post without internet
This is why books are the best for travelling>never run out of battery>no internet required>many hours of entertainment
>>749027207Never once happened to me even for AAA shit on steam, certainly not for anything emulated so idk what you messed up so badly dumb nigger
>>749027207I took my Steam Deck on vacation recently and it never had internet access. My games played fine.In the past, Steam did require a sync every once in a while. Maybe that still happens if you don’t play for a while.
>>749027462Worst case can't you just boot it into "desktop" mode and get a generic Linux system?
>>749027517I still can't play any of my steam games doing thathow the fuck is this draconian drm on a fucking HANDHELD acceptable?GABE YOU FUCKING NIGGER NOT EVERYONE IS A FUCKING BILLIONAIRE WITH GIGABIT WIFI ON THEIR MULTI MILLION DOLLAR YACHTS
>>749027207steam is DRMshit, 30 days without connection and you're locked out, you didn't know? I guess the valveshills here wouldn't tell you
>>749027207>he left auto updates onThis actually is a legitimate problem though when it comes to official purchases. Somehow pirating results in a better offline experience.
>>749027631Why the fuck are you running SNES games through Steam? Nigga, just install fucking RetroArch or something. Damn.
>>749027631>>749027207Anon you have Internet to make this post. Assuming you aren't lying (lol) use your phone as a hotspot for 2 seconds to sign into steam then go back offline
>>749027207>He paid for a SNES game on steam>He payed for a game he could easily emulate for free on steam
>>749027787I BOUGHT THE GAME ON STEAM YOU FAT FUCK>>749027835Why is this fucking acceptable?I barely even have a cell connection here, and on the way here there's completely dead spots that have nothing at allwhat if I was in a fucking plane for 10+ hours with absolutely no connection at all? it's a fucking HANDHELDWHY DOES IT NEED THE FUCKING INTERNET AT ALL
>>749027207If you were running it in an emulator this would not be a problem. My chinkheld is usually offline to preserve battery.
>Be OP>Come up with an idea for a thread>Post the most obvious bait ever>Whole thread buys it/v/ I am disappoint
>>749027932Iirc you have to sign in once every 6 months. So you are either retarded or lying I'm not sure which
>>749028082I assume he never launched the game before. I think Steam sometimes needs to do some shit for the first launch.
>>749028082You can stay offline indefinitely. But some games come with drm like denuvo that want check ins.Dunno what op's doing to fuck up this one though.
>>749028082That's not even true anymore. If a game requires a steam sign in then it's the developer who put that drm in not steam. There are steam drm free games that you can download once and stay offline forever l
>>749028134I assume he's lying but yeah
>>749027207Some games are gay and slip in a tiny bit of drm that want you to have started them once online before they work. Found that out with Lost Ruins. After that they work forever, but it's annoying when they blindside you with it.
>>749028227>>749028290>>749028134fuck you faggots, I've played the game for hoursI literally just took my deck with me on a trip and now it's a fucking paperweightmeanwhile my switch 2 and physical games FUCKING WORK
>>749028160This nigga playing backwards
>>749028350>meanwhile my switch 2 and physical games FUCKING WORKDon't give the game away so easily, OP.
>>749028350>meanwhile my switch 2 and physical games FUCKING WORKDelete their updates and get back to me.
>>749027631People like you shouldn't use electronics. Dumb kike.
>>749027932>buys a Steam Deck>quite literally a portable Linux computer, can do basically anything on it unlike most locked down consoles>better buy SNES games instead of emulating themIt's things like this that make you truly worry about people having voting rights.
It's not the deck, it's the steam client. Basically valve niggers keep updating the steamOS, so everytime it bricks all your games since all the supporting proton libraries need updating. You can bypass it by booting into desktop mode and launch the game directly from there using whichever the last version of proton you have. But the controls may not work well.
>>749028440This is why installed cachyos handeld shit. Then using v3/v4 whatever the fuck repo's to get more performance.
>before trip>turn on deck>go into offline mode>doesn't have to check in or do updatesWowwwww
>>749028351Armored Cored port leaked!!!
>>749027932WHY DID YOU BUY AN SNES GAME ON STEAM
