Is the pope gameplay fun
>>749030715No.
What gameplay? The 20 bucks DLC added basically nothing. It feels like a free patch.
Is CKII worth getting into? Or should I start with III?
>>749030715>>749031105I'll elaborate on my post to bump the thread.Playing as HoF just means you get spammed with notifications, same as playing a temporal HoF with the Communion tenet before this update. Except that being a feudal or ecclesiastic(?) Christian ruler involves equally much notification spam, these days. NPCs will try to convert you to their rite. NPCs will try to get you to adopt their personal tenet. If you're a cleric, NPCs will beg for money and claims.Meanwhile, the new rite system (which is technically part of the free update) is horribly balanced with regard to, shall we say, "identity maintenance". Rites are constantly shifting. Not only can the head of rite unilaterally modify the rite at any time, but a new head of rite, upon the previous one's death, will automatically swap one core tenet for another. Meanwhile, the new Ecumenical Council activity means that even sub-head characters can make changes. And to even host that activity, you're REQUIRED to select two tenets and a doctrine to potentially change! There's no per-rite cooldown for the activity, just a per-character one, so large rites are getting multiple sets of 3 changes per year from sub-head NPCs while the actual head of the rite is flippantly turning Catholicism into a sex cult for no apparent reason. The new "situation" for Christianity is pointlessly and endlessly cyclical. Not even the Great Schism makes it stop. But, as Christianity expands, the opportunities for situation catalysts increase in number. Within a century of playing, you'll find yourself getting a new situation chapter every other year. It's horribly balanced, and also buggy, as all new PDX releases are. If you're a paypiggy, you're a beta tester. The different interactions relating to educating a child are all bugged to shit, so they stop working after a few years. You can workaround this by saving, restarting the game, and loading, but that's a pain in the ass.comment too long ;^)
>>749032278Next DLC III should have most things II had and more. But it still will lack the whole lolsowhacky events and crazy shit of II. It is up to you.
