>>749033127Fighting games have been dead for decades. At first, it was trying to sucker players into whaling on quarters, then sucker them into buying the new DLC or expansion once arcades died, and now it's """community""" """legends""" suckering developers into paying them fat consultants checks for a dead in arrival game. Very few people like fighting games. Almost every company that has tried to enter this market whether directly or through selling peripherals has been burned and went under or fucked off. Even in successful legacy brands like SF, SG6 took years to sell what new REs do in months. You will not see a ROI in fighting games.Fighting games are just held up by some oil sheikhs' autistic gamer kids with money to throw at all sorts of bullshit and a government that wants to be known for something other than oil and particularly gauche consumption tastes. Now the magic box that makes money is getting bombed and the Gulf States may have different priorities than a Civ Cultural Victory.

Not buying OP's gamesBut also still not buying Sloppa Fighter 6
>>749033127I wonder what caused them to choose that gameplay. My theory was that MvC discussion was really strong in American fgc with some legendary players talking about how great MvC was and stuff. Then DBFZ's lighting in a bottle happened and everyone thought that it's easy money from now on. They were fukken wrong but we can also blame Dood for creating false hype for a genre that was never that popular outside the US.Personally I want Tokon to succeed but I already see a major issue with the game: it's too hard to understand what's going on. 4 characters means that when Timmy plays Jamal in a tournament you have to hold in your memory all 8 characters and their colors and who they belong too, and also because the visuals are so good and detailed it also makes the game look BAD on stream which is low bitrate 1080p at best. Both DBFZ and MvC3 look much more readable even if you also had to remember who plays who, and of course you can watch 1v1 fightans at 480p if you have to.
