>>749038646RE2 on Steam is a really weird mishmash of different versions. It doesn't have the lock on feature, but it does have the more difficulty enemy placements. I'm not sure on the details to be honest, but a friend played it recently and the game is a lot harder without the lock on.

Compared to REmake, the OG is way, way easier and I finished the Jill campaign in around 3 hours, but it's still fun to play.I didn't go for the Steam version because Capcom for some reason added their stupid DRM to it.
