Finally finished with character creation. Are you supposed to play Classic or New Genesis? Any weapon types that can't realistically be used solo?

Classic is the only good part of the game but Sega killed it. Weapon types don't matter in NGS, everyone is just a dodge-counter spamming DPS.

speaking of classic, is it still playable/worth playing for a bit these days? I've played ephinea but i've played it before and honestly the gameplay is just too dated for me these days. i liked what i played of pso2 classic when it came to the west

One because it was built around the live service model only for them to completely abandon it, while the other released half-baked and they never figured out how to improve it.Consider PSOBB or some version of Portable 2 unless you like PSO2's obsession with fashion.
