Were midnight launches fun?
>people used to stand in line at midnight to buy some shit at a cash register one at a time.
the only one i went to was skyrim back on 11/11/11 it was alright. hung out with a couple friends in line, we all went home and talked on xbl and played for a bit then went to bed. i remember the gamespot had two people working. regular cashier and a promoter in a really shitty chainmail costume who really did not want to be there
>>749055313no, unlike buying a game normally there was always a line you had to wait in. the only good thing about them was that eventually they just started doing them at 9 pm because 'it was technically midnight somewhere'. it was always exciting to finally get the game after waiting for it to release though.

I remember going to the midnight launch for the PS3 and there was only like 5 or 6 guys there lol.
the WoW one in Irvine was. It's pretty funny to think that was the last time I would ever see Mark Kern happy. Once we nabbed our games, we got Wendy's and drove the 2-2.5 hours back home, getting to our usual internet cafe around 3 am or 3:30. The guy who worked there opened it up and we played all fucking day. I had to wage 5 hours so I left, went to work with no sleep, and came back to play more. Being in a big group of 20 dudes all playing WoW was very fun.
>>749055313I worked in the store when these went on. They were fun. We used to taunt everyone outside by holding the game onto the window.
>>749060508if you did that today you would get culturally enriched
>>749055313I've been to two. Wow TBC and FF13. Lines are never fun and these were no different. Actually there's one exception. The Phantom Menace 12am showing in 1999 was fun because the nerds were playing games and fighting with lightsabers. No troon or gay shit, just pure fun and excitement for a new starwars movie.
>>749060845>No troon or gay shit>Star Wars Special Edition showings>The Matrixdamn, you made me remember. Zero flags that were not the Rebel Alliance
I deeply regret not going to halo 1/2/3 launch parties
