It's very meaty, lots of great character moments, Asgore was handled about as well as I could've reasonably hoped, and Weird Route really salvaged the bullshit visual changes/script changes he did in Ch4. The only thing seriously dragging it down was that it felt the tiniest bit too long (a couple rooms and maybe a couple fights could be trimmed/cut out), backtracking for all the pink coins got a tiny bit tedious, and I really don't care for the Noelle x Susie romance (but there is a saving throw or two Toby can thread the needle on). It's hard for me to pinpoint exactly how ch5 dropped the ball but I really don't care for it. Susie's fucking obsession with Noelle is really annoying, the tonal balance is way off with way too much fluff/joke content and no serious shit, secret boss choice and placement is bad for pacing and makes it feel like Toby is bored of or even resents the standards he established for secret bosses. It also made me realize how the kidnappings don't matter even in the internal logic of the game. You see Asgore get stolen and then as soon as you walk out of the shop, Susie is just talking about Noelle again. She says they need to bring Noelle because she's "someone who can fight" even though Susie doesn't see Noelle fight in side A and in fact she saw Noelle get kidnapped three times, and now wants to bring her to fight an enemy whose ENTIRE DEFINING DEAL IS KIDNAPPING LIGHTNERS
